Cannot restore/update iPhone. Internal error iOS5

I'm trying to update from iOS 4.3.5 to iOS5 but when I try to update I recieve an error during the restore process. I think it is an error with verifying the update. User uploaded file

It's a refurbished iPhone. Anyone else having the same issue?

The update isn't working because the installation process needs to be verified with Apple's servers, which are flooded by everyone trying to update. My installation broke during the verification process and now my iPhone is bricked. So if you still have a working iPhone, wait until the upgrade rush ends before trying. Otherwise you'll just be staring at a black screen like me 😟.

I was skeptical myself, but after 5 failed attempts to install ios5, I figured I'd give it a try and I turned of the network filter on Little Snitch. It totally could be a coincidence, but it worked smoothly right after this.

I did seem as though it was a network load issue on Apple's end, but maybe the Little Snitch filter caused a delay which timed out the install... who knows!

Good luck!
