Yep, same problem here. I've tried a lot of things just to see if they'll work but I am completely unable to use iCloud. Considering I have a MacBook Pro, iPad 2, and iPhone 4, it's VERY frustrating. They NEED to fix this.
I'm having the opposite problem. I received the email. But when I click on it it says that "email is already verified" when I'm trying to set it up on my iPhone 4G, or it does nothing when I log on with my Mac. There's no place I can go to reset email verification and do it again. There's no help button, etc. Why is this so thumbless? Anyone know what is going on here?
GAH! same problem as everyone else here. I tried logging inot MobileMe and tried to verify from there...clicked the link...nothing.
This is after dodging 5 other problems trying to upgrade iTunes and install iOS5....
grrr....
Me too. I found that I did have 2 different accounts using the same email address. I changed one of them to a new email address. Still can't verify.
I finally was able to fix the issue.
Go to iTunes and update your account ID to the email you provided while setting up your iPhone's iOS5. This fixed my issue right away.

Problem still not solved :-(
I have authorized two computers to my email address, and I have tried to verify on the account web page - seemingly can't do it has it still says Not Verified.
I must admit I am slightly frustrated ...
Tried everything without success. I have 2 appleIDs and a different email addresss assciated with each one. There is no overlap. However, the appleID I have used for iTunes store purchases for YEARS will not verify - no email is sent. I'm trying to do what Apple is suggesting and mirgrate away from my old me.com ID to a single one, but the long used and surely verified email address is not verified in Apple's system. Lame and wasting so much of my time. And as others have pointed out, Apple provides no help and is silent on this issue. If they don't acknowledge it, then I guess there is no problem. I'm going to the Genius bar tomorrow.
Same Problem here! I guess "it just doesn't work"!
I was thinking of hitting the Genius Bar too, but I won't be able to get there for a while. PLEASE post an update about how they fix it!
Found out something interesting. I have a mobileme account that transitioned to iCloud. Before it was moved to iCloud, there was a refernce to the email that will not verify now using my itunes (preferred) AppleID. However, when I moved to iCloud, that has become hidden and therefor unchangeable. After 30 minutes on the phone with AppleCare, they have had to escalate the issue to an engineer since regular help folks have no access to change their account system. I'm waiting for a phone call. They told me that the Genius bar folks can do nothing either. It's a serious glitch in their not greatly (appropriately) maligned ID system.

I too wasn't getting a verification email. What I noticed was that I had an old Apple ID, one without and @email part. When using with iCloud, I noticed that the email that I had associated with the account (@gmail.com) was used as a new(?) Apple ID required for iCloud. So I had <name@gmail.com> as an Apple ID and <name> Apple ID with a verified <name@gmail.com> email. I changed the email associated with the <name> Apple ID to an email i don't use very often, et voila! Immediately sent me a verification email for the other account! I hope my iTunes purchases are transferred.... (just checked: they aren't. It's a completely new Apple ID.. which kinda *****! Now I'll need to maintain multiple accounts!)
Hope my experience helps someone.

PS: Just to be on the safe side, I changed the passwords for the two accounts first to Apple's new password spec (number + lowercase letter + uppercase letter) before I changed the email.

Hmm... I had the exact same issue, and tried the same fix, but it hasn't work for me. Maybe I need to double check and make sure I did it correctly.
Sorry!
I probably should have mentioned that after resetting the emails, I asked for a verification email from the iCloud SysPref on my MBP. I instantly got a message "Verfication email sent to..." and within 2 seconds, it was in my inbox. Click the link, login on the web, and within 5 seconds I was setting up iCloud on my mac!
You'll have to first verify the new email that you specified for the <name> Apple ID before asking for a verification on the <@email> Apple ID.
