iCloud verification email

I have updated my imac but have not received the verification e-mail for icloud. I have repeatedly clicked on resend email verification. Anyone else have this problem?

I think I have sorted out the problem!!!🙂

It turns out that I have 4 Apple IDs that I have collected over the years. 2 for iTunes accounts (one US and one UK) 1 for Mobile Me and 1 for use on this discussion forum.

At least 2 of these accounts had the same contact email and this happens to be the one I'm trying to verify with iCloud for iOS5. This seems to confuse Apple and rather than telling me that the email address is associated with 2 Apple IDs, it just fails to send the verification mail.

My advice would to use the "I've forgotten my User ID" to recover what IDs you have and verify your mail from in there. If your address is associated with more than 1 ID, you get told here. Sort out your addresses so that you only have 1 per Apple ID and go from there...

Thanks for the solution Rob➕🙂

This is the solution! I tried several things and then realized that over the 20+ years that I have been with apple, I have created 3 ID's. The secondary email on my other 2 accounts was the same email addy as my main Apple ID I am using for iCloud. I changed both of my other accounts to another secondary email addy and...POP I got the iCloud confirmation email. Odd, but it works 😎

Im glad that it worked for you. That was the easiest way I found to solve the problem without the help of Apple. There customer service representives gave nothing but ummm and ahhh. In any event, enjoy using the iCloud feature because I sure am. 🙂

The funny thing about that is that you can not even go back to that ID anymore. Apple said that it would just drop off its server after June of next year because that was a question for them I had. They stated that after June of 2012, once the server has dropped it, I would be able to get it back. I even asked if they could manually erase it for the sake of the owner with all the information that was on the account and they said no. Unbelievable right! I have to wait a year to get my very own account back. Simply phenomenal!! Believe you me I would have preferred to have that on too. I had to use my personal business email to access iCloud and iTunes.

okay people I Fixed this!!!! After struggling yesterday for hours here is the fix.

When cloud starts, it creates a new Apple ID from your existing email address used for Itunes. In doing this, the old Apple Id without the email address is still out there. The simple fix is log into the old itunes account you used before with just an apple id and change your primary email to anything...something else...and then hit save. Now go into your new Apple id (the one that is now an email address) and send verification email. BOOM! you now get the verification email and its done.

The problem was there was two Apple IDs associated with each other preventing an email from being sent

I was able to resolve this issue using the advice from Ron0516 in another thread. This is what worked for me:

I had a 2 Apple IDs and had listed my primary Apple ID email as a secondary on the extra account (following so far?) and once I deleted the secondary email I logged back in to the Primary account and was finally able to click that Verify button. Then wooosh, I received a verify email immediately. *happy dance* and many a thank you Ron0516 🙂

ok guys, this is another issue that was addressed in the orignal post that seems to not be addressed in any of the replies, and that is the fact that some people are unable to verify their icloud account on their iphone devices in Settings/icloud.

For me, i have the icloud going fine on the desktop (somehow my original appleid @yahoo.com that i get all purchases through itunes and emails wasn't used for icloud, but my @mac.com email was used for the icloud account on my desktop due to migrating my mobileme/me.com account into icloud). However when i go to my iphone device, click on settings then icloud, i get the greyed out screen of options with the churning busy wheel saying veryfying,,,then it crashes back to the homescreen after a few seconds. On that screen before it crashes lists my email for icloud as my @yahoo.com address without giving me the ability to switch it to my @mac.com address.

So my problem is not having the ability to veryfy my iphone device due to it not giving me the option to switch the account from @yahoo.com email to @mac.com, and the fact that it crashes.

anyone else having that settings app crashing?
