iOS 5 Upgrade Bricked My iPhone 4 (Stuck in Recovery Mode)

I, like many others, kept getting "An internal error occurred" when trying to upgrade my iPhone 4 to iOS 5. Foolishly, I continued to hit the Update button and try again. It eventually led to my iPhone being in recovery mode. I am now unable to restore the phone due to the ongoing issues with Apple's servers and unable to use the phone because the failed upgrade process placed the phone in recovery mode.

You might be happy in 24 H, as for myself and several others, we're on call now, not in 24 H, and I'm not looking forward to the comments in the am about my failure to respond ...........

Apple, why oh why can't you put some of those bright folks to work building a fault tolerant upgrade capability if you're going to mandate phoning home???

Im getting exactly the same. First i got 3004 error - which is when i tunes cant connect to the apple server due to overload in this case i presume. Ive tried it 6 times already the latest error message im getting is 'internal error' message .

On other forums they are saying to wait untill the servers stabilse as they are expereinceing so much demand at the moment.

Im still worried and hope i can recover my iphone as i need it working asap!!!!!!
