No iCloud on Snow Leopard? THIS IS A JOKE, APPLE!

Right now I'm thinking about leaving Apple products behind for good. So I can't use iCloud on Snow Leopard (which is not that old)? Meaning my syncing (contacts, bookmarks, calendars etc.) will just stop when they shut down MobileMe in 2012?

GREAT WAY TO DEAL WITH YOUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS, APPLE!

I can't update to Lion (various reasons). So now what? Dump the crap Macbook+iMac+iPhone in the toilet? Should be a great idea!

VERY PROFESSIONAL, CONGRATULATIONS!

Agreed on all points, Aristophanes!

The issue that has, justifiably, upset MobileMe subscribers (now migrated to iCloud) is the unacceptable loss of cloud-sync Address Book and iCal between our Snow Leopard Macs and our iPhones & iPads.

It was Apple who encouraged us all, with their free trial periods, etc., to join MobileMe... come to the cloud, 90 day free trial, etc. So we did. And it worked. Now it doesn't.

This is not a case of moaning for the sake of it, this is a matter of facilities, previously paid for, being withdrawn from use.

I am sure they will sort it soon. The universal feelings of anger at these losses of facilities are greater than I have ever seen in my 20+ yrs of involvement with Apple.

As I've said, this is not about wanting new toys for free, just the reinstatement of existing facilities promoted and sold to us by Apple.

Mobile Me sync is still operational, I don't understand what your issue is.

If I upgrade my iPhone to iCloud none of my Macs that are running Snow Leopard and Leopard will continue syncing,

Plus MobileMe is being turned off next year.

Then do not migrate to iCloud until you have a solution, you have 8 months.

Sjazbec, please try first before saying it can't be done!!!! Your recent posts are most unhelpful.

You can do this and I have been doing so since Saturday. There are many posts on line saying the same. My iCal on my Snow Leopard MacBook Pro is synced to my iCloud calendar via CalDAV, just like many other users'.

The sync is perfect and bi-directional. Just like we were used to with MobileMe.

I am also confused. I am receiving all kinds of responses to this thread in my email, but every time I click on the link to the page they are on, I get this message:

"THERE ARE NO VISIBLE MESSAGES IN THIS DISCUSSION. THIS CAN HAPPEN IF MESSAGES HAVE BEEN HIDDEN BY A MODERATOR, OR HAVE BEEN REPORTED AS ABUSIVE."

I am stuck on p. 4, but clearly other people are able to see all the subsequent comments. What is happening??? I haven't posted anything nasty or abusive.

And that solution in 8 months is?
