No iCloud on Snow Leopard? THIS IS A JOKE, APPLE!

Right now I'm thinking about leaving Apple products behind for good. So I can't use iCloud on Snow Leopard (which is not that old)? Meaning my syncing (contacts, bookmarks, calendars etc.) will just stop when they shut down MobileMe in 2012?

GREAT WAY TO DEAL WITH YOUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS, APPLE!

I can't update to Lion (various reasons). So now what? Dump the crap Macbook+iMac+iPhone in the toilet? Should be a great idea!

VERY PROFESSIONAL, CONGRATULATIONS!

I am not happy about this either. Apple made all this hype about icloud and it's the future but yet they left us Snow Leopard users out in the cold. I just bought a new iMac a couple months ago and a Mac Mini not even a year ago. If Apple is going to leave people who have yesterdays version out in the cold and I have noticed over time that they are starting to do that with their iPhone upgrades, leaving key features out just so you HAVE to upgrade when the last piece of hardware was very well capable of running these programs...You better be listening Apple to these comments about leaving your loyal customers behind unless we PAY MORE MONEY to all the time.........

Our anger is over Apple's withdrawal of facilities that they sold us

This forum is not the place that Apple's product manager will ever read. It is a ranting in the internet that nobody takes notice of who is in charge of your complaints. It is wasted time to wish "Snow 10.6.9" and also to ask for Server settings that not even Apple's Store can or will tell you. Buy Lion and compatible hard - and Software or migrate your "Business" over to PCs.

My final word and ALSO the only solution.

I know you will rant and complain further and tell me how I do not know Apple , alas go on. I enjoy my Lion in the meantime.

You still don't understand do you Sjazbec?

Not one ounce of assistance from you to anyone on this matter. Just your useless commentary. We are not interested in your opinions. We are looking for advice. In fact, you even said that my advice about CalDAV could not work but, guess what? It did and does work.

But still, let us be thankful that was your final word.

Bye :) :) :)

"The point is... Apple have WITHDRAWN facilities without warning and/or reason"

Garry, they have given a lot of warning and notice, and they haven't withdrawn any facilities yet.

MobileMe is paid for on an annual subscription, it's not something you've bought and own forever. If they stop selling it, then you just have to buy something else from someone else.

iCloud is free, and if in June they still don't offer it for Leopard, then you can just pay for another synching facility from someone else. There are plenty of options out there that offer complete synching for calendar, documents, photos etc etc etc.

I don't understand why you're getting quite so het up about it.

Please stop being so abusive to Sjazbec. English isn't his first language and maybe you are having a ittle difficulty understanding the points he's been making but there's no need to be rude.

And what would these paid for services be that will sync my keychains and mail rules across mixed networks of Macs?

Try using Google, it's free.

It doesn't sync Mail rules and has repeatedly made a huge mess of my address book.

Then you have 8 months to search for an alternative, during which Mobile Me will continue to do the job.
