The iCloud IMAP server “p99-imap.mail.me.com” rejected the password for user XXXX
p99-imap.mail.me.com is not editable in my Mail.com configuration. Is this just a temporary glitch?

Alright, just tried something weird and got mail back... For now. If you create a new email account manually on your computer, put the imap address as the old imap.mail.me.com, and log in with your credentials. This got me "emergency" access to my mail, as I cannot send very well right now without bouncing off other SMTP servers. I've got a call in to apple to see what they're doing, but hopefully this will at least allow you to access your email for the time being.
I think this issue is very much widespread. Two mac users in my household. Both made the complete migration to iCloud yesterday. As of this morning I can't ues iCloud mail on my Mac (10.7.2) on my iPad (iOS 5) or at iCloud.com. Same exact problem on my wife's Mac/iPad/iCloud. No use of mail at all.
I really thought they were going to get this one right after two years of building data centers and months of planning the rollout.
I'm an apple person going back to 1986; I've never used a PC and never plan to. But when you look out how Dropbox "just works" or how Amazon does their server-side products, it just makes you wonder if Apple can't quite do server-side products correctly.
Same problems here. I'm getting the feeling that the iOS5 adopters on October 12th are the final beta testers prior to the masses activating their 4S' tomorrow. I REALLY hope they get this sorted out before the deliveries start to arrive.
«That teaches me never to upgrade on the first day again» <---- holy words!
Add me to the list of unhappy customers with this problem. Mobile me through mail and on the Mobileme website worked under Lion latest update perfectly well, but when I switched over to iCloud - chaos. Will have to retreat to Yahoo or Google Mail until the server gnomes in West Virginia stop falling over each other.
Same problems here.
Cannot access mail on either MBA or web and on iOS device.
I tried set up as per support page, but can't edit as requested.
I hope they get it fixed soon. I to go abroad on Saturday and it's already Thursday 5:00pm here in Germany.
OK, Apple, do something.
.
Having the same issue here, everyone's setting up their iCloud accts./migrating data from MobileMe. Not surprising, issue should resolve itself over the next week. 😎
Yep, that works for me too. Seems like using the generic IMAP account is a good workaround until it's fixed properly...
FYI, Apple is now finally showing that there is a problem with iCloud Mail.

Suddendly my mail is working on my IOS 5 devices (ipad and iphone) but still not working on MacPro. Maybe I need to close Mail and restart.
Same issue. Went and reset the password. Still not working.
It just started working for me. Got about a million "Apple Discussion updates" on my iphone LOL

Restart my Mail app on MacPro and it worked. Hopefully this means that they have fixed the problem!
