Unable to sync my iphone with itunes over wi-fi

I have exactly the same problem with iTunes 10.5, WIndows 7, Netgear Wifi router and iPhone 3GS....

I had the same problem. I just plugged my iPhone in (to the wall) and closed iTunes after trying to fix it for an hour. About 10 mins after doing this itunes opened on its own and began the wifi sync with my phone, i guess it just takes time to start.

Same problem here. Won't pick up my PC even though both are connected to the same wifi network

I have the same problem. And I have no firewalls, latest and greatest itunes and ios, configured to sync over wifi but *nothing*. Is there a way to file a bug report?

ya that didn't fix it for me. I even turned windows firewall off. no luck.

The fact that you can even INSTALL 10.5 amazes me...so many people on here are having issues even installing the program...you are lucky lol.

Right the same. Tried to turn Firewall off, tried even to Forward Ports to my PC... Still nothing. I have win7 ult, iPad2 64 WiFi+3G, ASUS RT-N16 running DD-WRT v24-sp2 (01/02/10) big (SVN revision 13575M NEWD-2 K2.6 Eko...) What ports do I need for this to work?

Strange, but after several PC reboots it STARTED WORKING! No significant changes were made...

What I found out is this:

You need to have music on your iPhone, iPod or iPad 1st before the Wi Fi Sync will work. When I did a manual sync, the Wi Fi sync worked great after. I didn't even need to have it connected to a power cord!

did you hit APPLY in the lower right on itunes

cpapjack. It is not correct. I don't have any music at all. And WiFi sync works, but not always 😕

updated 1 iPad,1 iPod and 2 iPhone4s and sync works on all but my iPhone4

Each iP* device has it's own Windows 7 system to sync with

When I unplug the iPad, iPod or other iPhone, the device stays in the devices list in iTunes

When I unplug my iPhone, it disappears from the devices list (which makes me think it's iTunes being petulant)

Have tried rebooting bot windows and the iPhone, disabling the firewall and 'repairing' iTunes

It's a 64 bit windows 7, FWIW, but the other iPhone 4 talks nice to a 64 bit windows 7

I had the same problem. I restarted my computer and sloved the problem.
