What I can't get over is that the lack of response from Apple who monitors these forums means that either:
a) They have lowered their standards and really just don't care and the problem if it is fixed, will silently be fixed at the factory if it all and current customers don't matter
b) It really is a very small number of people who are cognizant and visually sensitive enough to see, even with the web acknowledgement - and again doesn't Apple care, the screens are "good enough"
In either case the problem is that the market is unforgiving, and besides the philosophy some hold that Apple is somehow morally "good" and therefore deserves sponsoring is that they have a reputation for not just good, but excellent quality control; one WILL get an exemplary product for an increased price, even with a few lemons that will be taken care of. This kind of treatment will tarnish their reputation going forward. I for one am not in the reactionary-Android camp by a long shot, but next time I buy I am going to be more open-minded and cautious with an iPhone purchase.
I guess the yellow in the screens is a clear sign of the lemons in this case 😉
FWIW: I found that on my phone that a setting of about 80% brightness seemed to be the optimal point for less yellowing (my second is better than the first) and oddly better contrast, but not so bright my eye's hurt.

Jeff
