Siri is not working AT ALL on new iphone 4s. Anyone else having trouble?

iPhone 4s arrived by mail today. Turned on Siri via Settings/General. Asking REALLY simple questions like "What is the weather?" and Siri has not responded ONCE with an answer other than:

"What was that again?"

"Sorry, something's gone wrong. Can you try that agan?"

"Sorry, I didn't get that."

"Uh oh. Something's wrong. Can you try again?"

SO frustrating and disappointing. The microphone doesn't seem like the problem, as it is able to record audio elsewhere.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue with Siri?

Siri hasn't worked all day... here is what I did to get mine working...

1. Turn off Siri

2. Reset Network Settings (settings... general... reset... reset network settings)

3. Hold down home and sleep buttons until phone does a reset (wait until you see the Apple Logo to let go of buttons)

4. Turned Siri back on... test Siri with just 3G first... (it should work)

5. Join your wifi network and test Siri again... (it should still work)

That should do it... if not repeat...

Best wishes... I love this phone!!!

I've tried all the tricks listed as well. The only consistent thing I've experienced lately is that Siri will work immediately after I disable then enable (with or without turning off and on). But once I use the phone for any other function OR let it go to sleep, Siri stops working until I repeat the disable/enable procedure. Very frustrating. I am hopeful that Apple will fix this soon.

If it is true that this is a network congestion issue then all of these tricks are not perminant fixes. Since all you are doing is disconnecting and then re-establishing the connection to the Siri "network" then until apple is able to adjust to the demand we will continue seeing the problem.

Since this is launch weekend I would suspect that in the next week the adjustements that are needed will be implemented and the problems will go away.

This. After the first time it didn't work I tried a few things. Then I stopped trying anything. It works, it doesn't, then it does again. It's not on my end.

The problem seems to be on the server side and no with the device. Doing anything on the device is like trying to tune a radio to a station that has an intermittent transmitter. Right now it seems to be working more than not, so deman is falling or the service has been scaled up.

I have the "sorry, I'm having trouble connecting to the network" message too.

I can cure it by dropping my wifi connection and reverting to 3g but I have a fast broadband connection and there's no reason for it not to work - it was working OK yesterday with Siri.

It would help if Apple posted something - ie if the servers are swamped; let us know so we can stop trying to diagnose / cure our iphones. If it's a bug - tell us and get working on a fix. The silence is unhelpful...

Hope this helps. I don't think it is the servers at all. I get the same "Can't access the Network" response on my 32 Gig 4S, but Siri works fine on my wife's 16 Gig 4S. Helps to have two new units for comparison. I asked Siri the exact same question on both phones. Siri offered several relevant alternatives right away on my wife's phone but I just got the glowing circle and the network access response. Makes me wonder if it is unit specific.

Update: after fiddling around with additional settings, Siri seems to be working now on both phones. There is a separate Siri on/off switch within location services within settings. Make sure this is on as well as the Master Siri switch in General settings that Enables Siri. I also tried turning it on and off a couple of times. Not sure what finally did it, but it works now pretty consistently.

Yeah, I'm not so sure if it is the network either. I have a 64 gig, my wife has a 32 gig. We are on Verizon. Hers works flawlessly every time. Mine works occasionally. I have tried all the "fixes" and none work for me. It works when it feels like it. Which isn't very often. I will let it go this week and see if anything official comes out about a bug

My phone is doin the same thing.. I was disabling sire reseting the net work and then the phone and the re-enabling siri. and is doesnt work.. It stopped working for me around 6:00pm ET I was applying the reset fix i had to do it multiple times. it started to work around 1130pm ET and when i woke up this morning around 900am ET agian it will not work. I keep getting "can not connected to network" i have tried all resets suggested no luck.. I thing apple needs to stregthen and boost capacity on there server end. I came to this IPhone soley bc of Siri and with out the leading software that i believe separates Apple from the rest.. this phone is junk hardware.. I was furious when i learned that the RAM is only 500mb.. all new droids have a Gig with the dual core processors..

Why would apple put a dual core chip in a phone with little/no RAM?????? I believe this is whats causing all alot of issues with Siri... If you have mulitle apps open or in the inactive state.. there is NO Room in the memory for Siri to run and function properly!

Siri is not working AT ALL on new iphone 4s. Anyone else having trouble?
