Siri is not working AT ALL on new iphone 4s. Anyone else having trouble?

iPhone 4s arrived by mail today. Turned on Siri via Settings/General. Asking REALLY simple questions like "What is the weather?" and Siri has not responded ONCE with an answer other than:

"What was that again?"

"Sorry, something's gone wrong. Can you try that agan?"

"Sorry, I didn't get that."

"Uh oh. Something's wrong. Can you try again?"

SO frustrating and disappointing. The microphone doesn't seem like the problem, as it is able to record audio elsewhere.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue with Siri?

For what its worth, This is how I got Siri working:

Settings -> general -> Reset -> Reset All Settings.

This does not delete data, just resets Home wall paper and many other default settings.

I had the exact same issue of Siri not connecting on iphone4s out of the box. After trying the methods mentioned in the posts above and not making progress, I figured the problem must be because after activation, I installed the apps etc from back up on itunes instead of setting up the phone as a completely new device. That meant I never went though the set up screen where it asked me if I wanted to use Siri. When i tried 'Reset all Settings', the phone walked me though the initial setup again (without erasing any music or apps) and showed me the screen to set up siri.

After that its been great!

Hope this helps.

Yes, Siri was a major reason I bought iPhone...if they didn't do the appropriate T & E before releasing and enticing me with false product descriptions and then expect the consumer to be the beta testers THAT IS FRAUD. Stay away from the class action suits you will get nothing. Sue apple as an indidual claimant, believe me there will be lawyers willing to take this risk

When they released the device, they made it clear Siri was still in beta. This is a breakthrough technology and we can't expect it to be perfect just yet. We also have to consider how accustomed we've become for greatness and because of that, we demand more from our devices. I have no doubt any and all kinks will be ironed out with future updates. Paving the way with innovation is a bumpy road, but the bumps let us know we're the futures coat tails. Just my humble opinion.

Same issue, Siri worked for about an hour, then I tried using it and it wasn't working at all. I have restored my phone, reset all settings 5 times...Disabled and reabled siri.. these things help... for about an hour, then she stops working again....this is really frusterating. And my boyfriends and my dads works perfectly everytime.. so whats wrong with mine? hmmm

No...everytime you reset Siri you erase everything it's learned. It works for 10-15 mins. When you

Send a command it processes through the apple server, I was

Told by AT&T the server was overloaded and Apple is working on it- mine didn't work

Fri, hit or miss sat/sun and now working perfectly today

Best advice is leave it alone, and try in a few hours

I would not keep resetting it, it's not your iPhone 4s

It's the servers. It's BETA and they will work it out

Trust me I kept following this advice to disable restar etc

Once I let it alone it started working perfectly.

Hey everyone!

I just got my iPhone 4s today, and was having the same issue!!

My friend had previously experienced it, and had already contacted a knowledgeable ATT Customer Service Rep!

The rep updated ATT system to reflect IMEI# on iPhone 4s.

I called, and although the customer service rep didn't even have any idea who/what SIRI was, I had her update my IMEI# ---SIRI IS WORKING! 🙂
