Siri is not working AT ALL on new iphone 4s. Anyone else having trouble?

iPhone 4s arrived by mail today. Turned on Siri via Settings/General. Asking REALLY simple questions like "What is the weather?" and Siri has not responded ONCE with an answer other than:

"What was that again?"

"Sorry, something's gone wrong. Can you try that agan?"

"Sorry, I didn't get that."

"Uh oh. Something's wrong. Can you try again?"

SO frustrating and disappointing. The microphone doesn't seem like the problem, as it is able to record audio elsewhere.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue with Siri?

On friday, Siri worked fairly well.. Spotty most of the weekend.. Monday morning: no connection

.. I chalked it up to people showing off at work swamping the servers. Monday afternoon: worked like a dream. Sent 50 texts, set up my whole week on the calendar, and set several reminders without even looking at my phone. Today: NOTHING AT ALL!!!!!!! Not one command. It's a wicked tease. :-/

I have used macs for professional audio post for over 10 years. This is my first support post..

Well, after seeing my wife's iPhone work just fine with Siri while mine continued to experience network issues, I decided this wasn't a server issue. Resetting alone with Siri set to off did not work. However, an old iPad trick did work.

I cleared out the multi-tasking bar (when you double tap the home button), turned off the phone and back on again and it works like a champ.

Siri definitely only seems to work on 3G. Absolutely hopeless for me. It would work on Wi-Fi but that isn't a lot of use. Also, responses from a simple Siri request are taking up to 70 seconds. Siri is totally unusable ..... ALSO Battery Life on my 4S is totally unacceptable. I am a fairly light user and would not expect to be re-charging before the end of the day. All in all this was a VERY poor investment. I think I will probably get a refund and go buy a Blackberry. Not so much fun but will be a much much better phone. HOPELESS!!

Anyone that declares they have a fix for the Siri network problem are in for a rude awakening when Siri fails again. It's a problem on Apple's end... there's nothing one can do that will fix it at the phone end. Those that get apparent success by resetting or doing a rain dance simply got a good network connection into Apple's servers when they rebooted or reset or danced. It's time for Apple to get out front of this issue, admit it and offer some hope or expectation.

Siri will only read the text message if you are in handsfree mode. If you are linked via bluetooth to a handsfree device (such as a car handsfree system or bluetooth ear piece), or if you have the ear buds plugged into the headphones jack, Siri will then assume you are "handsfree" and begin reading your text messages to you.

To do a test yourself..... Plug your earbuds in and send yourself a test text message. Siri will read the message back to you before asking you if you want to send. When you receive your own text, hit the mic button for Siri and say, "read text." She will read you the new message.

I can't get Siri to dial local numbers but it will dial international numbers i.e to the UK. It did call my husbands mobile once but hasnt worked since. It obeys other commands but it just says it can't dial any local number. Is anyone else having a similar problem. I have even tried putting the international code in front of our local numbers but this didn't fix the problem.
