Siri is not working AT ALL on new iphone 4s. Anyone else having trouble?

iPhone 4s arrived by mail today. Turned on Siri via Settings/General. Asking REALLY simple questions like "What is the weather?" and Siri has not responded ONCE with an answer other than:

"What was that again?"

"Sorry, something's gone wrong. Can you try that agan?"

"Sorry, I didn't get that."

"Uh oh. Something's wrong. Can you try again?"

SO frustrating and disappointing. The microphone doesn't seem like the problem, as it is able to record audio elsewhere.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue with Siri?

Ok granted this would be a high traffic weekend for apple's network. But riddle me this.. What exactly does Siri need a network connection for to do local tasks such as tell me Hi or set a reminder?

I am not trying to be critical here, I am just generaly curious as to what on the "network" it is requiring to access to perfome simple local tasks.

Thanks Hannahat....that seemed to have worked but once SIRI stopped, I left it alone for about 24 hours. Now she's up and working like a charm. It was funny last night, SIRI said, "There is something wrong. I think I'm losing my mind. I am losing my mind. Sorry." It was so human but correct. She couldn't access the server, aka her mind. Just thought the reader's would find it amusing.:)

I'm on day two of getting to know my 4S and I'm experiencing the exact same issues, primarily in the afternoon. Early this morning I was actually able to experiment with Siri and was amazed at its usefullness and prompt action to my commands. In the aftnernoon and early evening, like at the time I'm writing this, Siri becomes unusable with the exact same issues you describe above. I can only assume that Apple has drastically underestimated the server demand necessary to run Siri effecitvely. If Siri can't respond to voice commands quickly, it's completely impractical. I'm sure Apple will get the kinks worked out, but during the last two days in the afternoon/early eveing, the only thing Siri does with any consistency is give an error message about connecting to the network or not being able to do that. It's really a hassle since Siri has replaced the voice command dialing system that I had on my old iphone 4 in relation to my hands-free car kit. I'm having to dial calls from my contacts by selecting them manually because Siri can't connect to the network to interpret what I've said to dial a simple phone call. Siri, in this state, really works to make the iPhone more unsafe while driving because Siri apparenlty doesn't do any processing of what you see locally on the phone. It has to get to the server to process anything you've said and if it can't, well so much for hands free.

Yes, Siri still not working, including when attempting the OFF/reboot/ON trick listed. I use AT&T service, 16Gb phone. There's a thread on here that it's releated to your Contacts ... I have no idea, I just know mine doesn't work. After 9 hours of activation problems/fun yesterday, it worked great for several hours. Not at all this morning, though. This hasn't been a great Apple experience!

After Siri being "down" briefly this morning, I've gone most of the day with a hiccup. My wife's phone did the same this afternoon and I immediately grabbed mine to see if it would fail as well. At first it did, the I turned Siri off then on again and it worked. Then I held both phones and asked Siri a question at the same time to see what would happen. Both iPhones are 32gs, one white, one black. The phones would answer slightly longer or shorter than the other, but overall, they were equal. Most of the time they gave different answers. When I asked them where I could get a bj, they both directed me to the same escort services in the Baltimore area, lol.
