Siri is not working AT ALL on new iphone 4s. Anyone else having trouble?

iPhone 4s arrived by mail today. Turned on Siri via Settings/General. Asking REALLY simple questions like "What is the weather?" and Siri has not responded ONCE with an answer other than:

"What was that again?"

"Sorry, something's gone wrong. Can you try that agan?"

"Sorry, I didn't get that."

"Uh oh. Something's wrong. Can you try again?"

SO frustrating and disappointing. The microphone doesn't seem like the problem, as it is able to record audio elsewhere.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue with Siri?

If anybody is considering uPgrading from iPhone 4 to 4s like I was untill three days ago, don't do it. The speed difference is not there for most uses of the phone, Siri is not working and battery life is much worse. All these though would be pushed by my apple glasses behind and I would be happy with a worse, but newer version of iphone. What is not excusable in any way and has put a huge smear in my apple glasses is the lack of an acknowledgement on behalf of apple and a fix date! Apple had the benefit of no problem installations and communication between the products family. This was what "sold me" in the first case. Now...?????

Once more: WHEN SHOULD I EXPECT MY PHONE TO WORK AS EXPECTED?

Sory to Hijack this thread.

I can't relate at all. I had one day of problems with Siri when everyone else did. She works like a charm all of the time. I now use my phone more than my iPad just because I have grown acostomed to dictating everything.

I live in So. Florida. Is it an area problem?

I am SO HAPPY I upgraded to the 4s. I am sorry you all have problem but none of my friends do either.

Beta beta beta....just a big excuse to get our money before apple provides the goods...i'm tired of hearing these apple defenders...don't get me wrong, i like my other apple products but i think its wrong to take our funds and not deliver a fully functional product!! What if you bought a car and the wheels fell off? Ya gonna listen to " oh it was a beta version" yeah right...that's crap....my worst fear is being realized...apple may have died with its creator ... :((

My wife can use Siri and the dictation just fine, but after starting the day out OK, this afternoon whenever I try Siri I get the usual, "Sorry Pat, something's gone wronge. Can you try that again?" When I try dictation I get nothing.

It started at mid day today and continues til now -- at night.

Does Siri get Sunday's off or something?

comparing the iphone to a car is ridiculous. Are you going to die just because Siri isn't working fully? No so why complain. You would be complaining even more if Apple had announced Siri and you bought the new phone and they decided to not put Siri on because it wasn't perfected enough to meet your standards. Siri works as advertised and they advertised it as a beta on their website and the launch keynote. It isn't apple's fault you didn't actually listen or read that Siri was in beta. Stop complaining and only complain when Siri isn't in beta anymore.

In the hope that Apple is listening to its customers, and that this is not the beginning of Apple's demise as happened with the PC market, plse note that my orginal iphone 4S had antenna problems, was returned yesterday, and the replacement unit has Siri not working. I tried all the rebooting placebos, etc. with no effect. C'mon guys!

Siri is a piece. I'd say it works about half of the time and the other half it cannot connect to the network, even though the network is fine. It's rediculous that you can't even use voice dial anymore if Siri is down. Voice dial worked great until siri came along and screwed it all up.

On the other hand, when siri does work, I like it.

Fix it! Or make it a native app for at least the most basic functions.
