Siri is not working AT ALL on new iphone 4s. Anyone else having trouble?

iPhone 4s arrived by mail today. Turned on Siri via Settings/General. Asking REALLY simple questions like "What is the weather?" and Siri has not responded ONCE with an answer other than:

"What was that again?"

"Sorry, something's gone wrong. Can you try that agan?"

"Sorry, I didn't get that."

"Uh oh. Something's wrong. Can you try again?"

SO frustrating and disappointing. The microphone doesn't seem like the problem, as it is able to record audio elsewhere.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue with Siri?

Potentially there is server state associated with each Siri client and somehow that state is getting corrupted to the point that the server is failing any Siri requests from the clients with the corrupt state. Perhaps the Reset All allows the client to re-register with the server as a new client with new state, which allows Siri to work again.

My Siri hasn't been working for couple days. I didn't realize that Siri is still in the beta stage until I have this problem. I felt like I was misleaded by Apple. How can you heavily promote a 'signture feature' that is still in a beta stage ? That's just WRONG! This is the main reason I got iphone4s instead of an andriod phone.

I need to find a way to return this piece of junk.

Hava had the same issue for the last two days. Doing a "Reset All Settings" under settings General/Reset/Reset All Settings worked for me also. Tried, turning Siri off and then doing a hard reboot as some others suggested and it did not work - only the "Reset All Settings" will work. Not too much of a pain to do, all your email data, potos and music files are saved with no change.

Thanks to the "civilians" on here for the tip regarding "Reset All Settings." From what I gather, that advice came from a visit to a physical Apple Store. Think about that ... These people (you know, the cupertino people) have their own proprietary system, browser, servers ... total access to their millions of customers, and they couldn't find, say, an electronic method of informing the iPhone 4S users as to a fix (one that will probably be temporary)?

I'm not surprised. I walked into the Apple Store on 4th Street (Berkeley) yesterday, and the kid working the front door gave me the grin. So, I asked him, "Any news on when Apple's servers are going to be able to handle traffic again?"

He said, "what do you mean?"

"I mean the SIRI and dictation on the 4S have been down for over 48 hours, all across the country."

"I didn't know that."

"Don't you people read the papers, or Wired, or anything?"

"No."

"Well maybe you should."

*** kind of operation are these clowns running? Did Yahoo slip in the back door and start running the show? ha ha ha, little joke, I know. But, seriously ... Apple ... pathetic. I'm grateful Mr. Jobs didn't have to witness this b******t.

I got my Iphone 4S on Monday and Siri didn't work. Last night after reading multiple posts on multiple sites with tips -- I did a "Reset All Settings". That did the trick -- mostly. I did have to disable/re-enable Siri this morning to get it to function again.

However, after the 'Reset", I'm experiencing difficulty with my contacts 'names' not appearing when receiving a call or text from them. Their individual numbers appear, but their names do not. Any tips?

The worse part is the Apple customer support. I called them and all they can say is well the software is in beta and it says so on the Apple web site. Yeah, really ? It is not mentioned in any Siri commericals that I have seen on TV nor from the people in the store when they pushing for iphone 4 because of Siri.

Can someone start a class action lawsuit(if there isn't already one) that we can sue Apple for this for fault advertising ?

when i talk to siri, usually two things happen

1. i see 3 purple dots then ...nothing comes, like it did not hear me or something.

2. i talk to it, theres a pause and nothing.

i assume the siri server is simply down

because it was billed as BETA then i understand it may not be working.

when it does work its flawless though. amazing technology. i can't wait for the day its 100% online.

seems unreliable atm.
