Siri is not working AT ALL on new iphone 4s. Anyone else having trouble?

Siri is in it's infancy. It will have glitches just like whenever a business decides to switch a to a new computer system. Eventually, SIRI upgrades will come to us and some of our issues willl be smoothed out after a year.

Yeah, I saw the commercial of the guy running while talking to SIRI, and it is unrealistic. They should have a commercial of someone getting frustrated while SIRI spells out the expletive correctly after failing to get something simple. That actually happened to me. To quote SIRI in her sexy voice:

"Sorry, I can't find M***** ****R."

Anyway, It'll get better.

It worked for me, but then Siri went out again. Wifi is off. Not sure what to do now.

I reset all setting, turned off Wifi, and Siri worked for a while but then went out again. Any suggestions?

I too had this problem with Siri.

I didn't go the "reset all" route but instead went with Restore while connected to iTunes. I guess that's more or less the same thing. Pain in the butt either way.

When it came back I said "hello" and Siri said hi back. Then asked about the weather, it replied and it was quick about it where as before it went out completely it was slow as ****.

It would be nice if Siri had problems like that or even the servers were down then basic functions should still work like when Siri is disabled, what you get with the basic voice control.

Thanks for your reply. I restored all settings again just for the heck of it, and Siri is working....BUT, it cannot dial phone numbers. Interestingly enough, it can dial an 800 number. Also, I noticed that some incoming calls on my contact list are showing on the screen as numbers instead of by name. Very frustrating! How does one use basic voice control on the iphone 4s?

That's the route I took as well with my new 4S (Verizon) and am experiencing the same issue with my contacts in the messages app. In searching for fixes on that (I haven't found any yet) I learned that it seems to only be happening on Verizon Iphone 4S phones. Anyone have any ideas? I

Didn't work. Still getting "I'm really sorry about this. I can't take any requests right now." It's been happening for a few days now.

I dont know why you guys don't take your iPhone back to Apple for a replacement. They'll do it with no problem if you explain this to them. I've had a couple of iPhones replaced in the past. I know it shouldn't have to come to that, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Go to Settings > Phone and turn off "International Assist" so you can use Siri to call again.

I found this out myself by mocking around with it. Called Apple Customer Service about this and they don't have a FREAKING clue.

I tried the General / Reset / Reset All Settings and lo and behold, Siri works MUCH better. Before I was getting maybe 2 out of 10 responses. Now I am getting about 7 out of 10. Siri even used my name for the first time. Strange. I'll take 7 out of 10 for a beta.

I had this problem a few days ago (just a couple days after getting this device). I went to the Apple Store and the Genius used a cloth to wipe the sensor above the speaker (visible on white devices but not on the black) and closed down the many, many applications I had open on the multitasking bar. That did the trick!

Went to Apple Express support and was walked through backing up my phone, then restore factory setting and restoring my settings. So far, SIRI issue is resolved.

I was getting (null) ((null)) listed in all my Siri language options but after going to Settings - General - International, selecting my Region Format and then rebooting my phone, the language options are all now available.

I have no issue with Siri. Ask (her) simple questions or tasks slowly and Siri does what I ask. I use her to read texts and dial numbers mostly. I have Sprint. I get reception in places ATT drops out. Could this be an issue with Siri?

I had the same problems, but did the same as Mr. Pocho (reset all settings) and have had no further problems. I had assumed the server was clogged, but that turned out not to be the case. Siri has worked fine ever since. I had the same problem, by the way, with Siri not being able to dial 10-digit numbers, and I believe this is what I did to fix that, too.
