Siri is not working AT ALL on new iphone 4s. Anyone else having trouble?

same issue, and I just got done braggig how great it was...like she knew!

Siri seems to have been a little bit overloaded tonight. It requires the servers to be available and with a few milion activations today, seems to have been lagging a bit behind.

I'm actually having issues using my iphone 4s. an app froze, i tried to shut off my phone and while i was doing so it turned "voice over on" and i cant get my iphone back to normal. Help me please?

Remember, Siri is a beta product. It will only get better. Also, it has to learn yoru voice. I went to the apple store today (I know...i'm a glutton for punishment) and played with one. It was very loud in the store and yes, Siri failed a few times, but once I got the hang of it and it learned me, it did most of the things I asked it. I had to put the mic very close to my mouth, almost turning the phone on its side once or twice, but I got it to add reminders, set alarms, text message a nickname, give me the weather, get directions and traffic to..., and take dictation.

Did you try correcting Siri? You tap on the button it says, and edit it by typing or tapping the microphone icon to dictate again.

And don't forget our old troubleshooting standbys: restart, reset...

Well, I don't mind it being down for a day.. But I dont want it to be so uncertain all the time.... 😟

I think for many it will be a waiting game. The servers are overloaded, they didn't prepare for people asking Siri 10,000 questions a minute! Luckily for me, both my 4s phones work, i had issues on one at the start but after shutting it down and resetting, it is working great. I have to say, some of the answers Siri gives are awesome! Be patient guys, it will work soon!

My wifes works fine, mine does not.

Same exact thing happened here. My 4s is locked and I can't get voice over to turn off and it won't recognize my passcode.

I am having same issue this ***** r they going to fix the issue?

Continually says not able to connect to network even though wifi and 3g function perfectly. Sometimes doesn't respond at all. Just goes back to home screen with no response, Where is that magic that David Pogue described? Sorry Siri, just not feeling the love for 5 hours now...

I had to do restart twice in order to get mine to work. The second time I shut off siri and did a restart. This fixed both mine and my girl's phones.

Thanks hannahat. I performed the steps and it worked like a charm. Had been receiving the "unable to connect" message all night until I tried.

1. Disable Siri under Settings/General

2. Turn phone off completely

3. Turn phone back on

4. Enable Siri under Settings/General

The sad thing is nobody will take the blame. Apple will blame the carriers. The carriers will blame Apple. And Siri will still suck. Another fail launch by Apple.

I turned Siri off. I'm probably going to return this piece of junk to Apple and get my money back. This isn't worth $200 over the iphone 4.

For anyone having problems where their phone froze, they rebooted, voice over was turned on, and Siri was speaking choices when they tapped their phone AND they couldn't enter their passcode....this can be fixed.

For each digit in your passcode, tap the number then tap twice anywhere on your screen for the tap to take effect.

Example: Your passcode is 1234. Tap the number 1. Tap anywhere on the screen twice. Tap the 2. Tap anywhere on the screen twice. Tap the 3. Tap anywhere on the screen twice. Tap the 4. Tap anywhere on the screen twice.

You should be in your phone now. Now disable Voice Over. Settings > General > Accessiblity > Turn off Voice Over.
