Siri is not working AT ALL on new iphone 4s. Anyone else having trouble?

Mine is not working, but my wife's is. Sitting here using both side by side. On Verizon's network.

Just called a friend of mine who has an older iphone and she said my number came up as blocked even though I didn't change numbers and I'm in her contacts. She's on AT&T just like me. So makes me wonder if something screwy is going on with AT&T's network if her iphone isn't able to recognize my number. And is that problem also affecting Siri?

Resetting network settings didn't work neither did Hannahat's suggestion either. This is so annoying.

I told everybody Apple would not ship this feature unless they nailed it - well something was nailed but it seems to be us - I am having the same issues - works, then not and only over wifi. I started talking crazy to the phone and yelled "if you don't work pretty soon I am taking you back to the Apple store." And Siri said "OK, here are the locations of the closest Apple Stores."

Got my iPhone yesterday about 1:30 pm PT and Siri was working great. Played with it until about 5 pm and than she stopped working. Waited and waited.... Finally took the advice to shut off Siri, reboot phone then restart Siri and it started working again. Went to bed last night around 10 pm and got up this morning at 7 am and it isn't working again. I tried all the reboot tricks listed in this thread and none of them are working this time. Not sure what the issue is but it sure would be nice to know that Apple has all of their experts working to resolve the issue. And when possible give us an estimated fix date and time.

SIRI Voice recognition NOT working at all. Siri replies "I'm having trouble connecting to the network" everytime despite having a full 5 bars and WIFI access to the internet. SIRI did work an hour or two ago but she was EXTREMELY slow to respond to simple requests questions or dications.

I have the 4S with Verizon using it in Los Angeles CA on 3G. Please post if you're having similar issues. It was working yesterday Oct 14th but it was working very poorly (very slowly), and now, its just not working at all. I have tried disabling SIRI and restarting the phone then reenabling SIRI which other users here have recommended. This does not fix the issue whatsoever. The issue this morning might be a complete outage. Is this a Verizon issue only or is every carrier having the same issue? Please post your experience because Apple Tech support is closed. Maybe this is network dependent. This worked for me and I'm on sprint.

I had the same issue until I followed the guidance posted by hannahat in this chain. Disabled Siri (settinges/general, powered down iPhone (press and hold top button for some seconds, slide the red bar to power down). Then restarted iPhone and activated Siri. Suddenly it is working and understands a lot more.

You need to access your AT&T router through your web browser. The web address and password should be on the side of the router. It's often http://192.168.1.254

Once you're in...access the firewall controls through Settings. Select your iPhone or whatever device address it's under. Scroll down and select DMZplus Mode, save.

got the same issue and found out Siri only stops working after using Scrabble application. to make Siri works again, i simply turn Siri off and on without rebooting the phone.

I had the same issue but disabling Siri and shutting down iPhone and then turning everything back on worked!!! We are go for launch miss you JOBS!!

I can confirm disabling SIRI, rebooting, re-enabling SIRI fixed the "Uh oh! Something is wrong" errors. I was asking it questions (some quite offensive lol) all night long and it was working great, but now all I get is "Sorry, I am having trouble connecting to the network."

I'm sure that's Apple's issue and not my phone at this point. BTW, for fun.. when it does start working again.. Ask Siri "Will you marry me?" The response is quite funny.

As of right now, Siri is useless. I just asked it the weather. It couldn't connect to the network. So then I turned it off and then back on again, and asked it again. Then it responded. It would've been easier and taken less time just to use the weather app. Unless this can be sorted out and fixed, Siri could be a huge flop for Apple. I'm definitely returning my iphone 4s if this remains an issue. No reason to pay $200 for a slightly faster version of my iphone 4. My iphone 4 was already running a little faster with ios 5 on it, so I'll just go back to that configuration.
