iTunes Match Freezes in Step 2

After multiple attempts, iTunes Match continues to freeze in Step 2. It states 1251 songs checked 0 items remaining. Any suggestions as to how to resolve this issue?

Don't get ahead of yourself.

I'm experiencing the same, so I know how frustrating it feels, but iTunes Match has been rolled out to 19 new countries yesterday.

Don't get me wrong, that's no excuse, it should still work fine (maybe slower, but work nevertheless), but I'm pretty positive it's related to that. Give it a few days and it will begin to work again once the servers aren't collapsing.

Oh, and for the record, MobileMe was just as bad (or worse); so this has nothing to do with Steve not being around anymore. It's just Apple having problems with the whole "digital hub on the cloud" thing.

"Reported", "Sorry".... what do I buy for that? I am driving in my car all day without music on my iPhone. I can see the playlists but they all give me "no content". Rolling it out in 19 countries is ofcourse big business but at same time it's Apple bringing their problems to their clients and users. With the Steve remark I ment that for all the years that I am using Apple products, both PC and mobile products, a thing like this never happened to me. I am always showing off to none Apple users how perfect Apple always is and works. And now , a few months after..............

Can I disable Match on iMac and go back to sync on a wire untill the stormcloud has blown over?

I'm in Colombia. I have 2 different Apple ID's (one from my local store, the other one from the US). I used the american one with prepaid iTunes Gift Cards to rent movies and download music (this last one until a month ago, when the music store went live in my country). As you know, iTunes Match can't be paid using those Gift Cards, so I waited until it went live at the colombian store last monday. When I run iTunes Match, it ONLY recognizes the songs purchased at my local store, while ALL the rest of the songs (including the ones purchased on the USA store) appear in my labrary with the status "Waiting". So the iTunes Match process gets stuck after having processed the only 4 songs I have purchased at my local store, because the rest of the songs have been purchased at the US store or have been ripped from CDs. I guess it should AT LEAST recognize the ones I purchased using the US Apple ID. Any one having this issue too?

In Australia, I also have this problem. Was forced to turn off iTunes Match a couple of days ago as it continually crashed iTunes on opening. Mine is now stuck, Step 2, 17,766 out of 17,781 songs checked.

It's already completed this process a few weeks ago successfully, it's just rerunning from turning it off/back on.

Just Reported it as per previous 'Expresslane' link, all I can do.

FWIW I used iTunes Match to fill my iPhone4 prior to a 3 week holiday (from which I just returned)

It was a disaster. Of the 7000 songs put on the device, huge chunks just refuse to play, like they aren't there. Others only play through certain viewing modes (ie; via Songs, or via Artist etc.)

The matching onto the actual iPhone4 just did not work properly. It was horribly slow as well. I eagerly wait a much improved iTunes Match experience, so far, it has been awful, it doesn't work properly, plain and simple.

It also turns the 'Music' interface on the iPhone4 into mud, a pregnant pause everytime I press something when using it. I even wiped the phone and started over to make sure it wasn't something about the phone (no it wasn't.)

dbod - your FWIW point I can concur on!

While I had two weeks ago been successful in matching (after days of crashes - see post on how to get the upgraded files) https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3634595 I do notice that every 4/5th song on my Iphone4 (IOS 5.0.1) my favourite playlists, either SKIPS, PLAYS the WRONG song, or hangs there.

I had to go in airline mode, and delete the downloaded tracks to force a fix - who has time for this crap!!! Rubbish if you ask me but if you read my post above, I was not really caring about long term Match cloud usage - I am using synology DS audio iphone app and it works! Apple if you are listening perhaps license the software from them as theirs works, but please dont buy them as you will ruin a great company!

I found the solution, **** ... look apparently when activated MatchiTunes a few days ago quite a few more countries is that they introduced some sort of support system to improve and to work properly you have to leave your iTunes account, go above where it says itunes store and activate the option to deauthorize this computer, follow the subsequent steps, restart the computer, thenre-enter your iTunes Store account, go back up where it saysitunes store and activate the option to license this computer, follow the steps ... and then enable iTunes Match, and you're done! synchronized to perfection and overcoming immediatelystep 2 where it crashed. Anyway ... Hail to True Metal, ja ja ja...
