GPS Not Working in iOS5

Ever since i updated to iOS 5, navigation apps like Sygic and Nagignon are reporting that they are unable to get GPS signal. These apps were working just fine before the update.

Even other apps like Foursquare and Gowalla are completely off ... the only thing that seems to be working is Maps but its not able to identify current location correctly.

Its rather frustrating to see paid apps especially Sygic not working ...

I ve a factory unlocked 4, and since yesterday the GPS in the maps has stopped working.

The blue dot which starts off with a zoomed out area, never really homes in to the exact location. Usually when the location is locked the blue dot starts blinking in small circles, however since yesterday that has stopped happening. The location of the blue dot however does change but that happens in the zoomed out mode. It is kind of irritating and frustrating.

I ve read all the posts on this thread however ve not come across with a valid and effective solution to this problem. I did a network reset/location reset, and now all that is pending to do is do a factory reset or reinstall my phone!

Any pointers on this will be much appreciated

Hi,

I finally updated my 3GS tot 5.01 (baseband 05.16.05) hoping the problem would be solved, but unfortunately it didn't!

Very disappointing again....

Main question of me is, because this is an Apple forum, why don't we get any respons of the Apple employees about this problem. This woul d make the problem much more understandable (is this proper English??).

Everybody is still compalining, but we don't get any sollutions form Apple...so sad!

I even think we still aren't heard and are talking againt a massive brick wall!

For now my hopes are pointed at 5.1....but my thoughts say it probably wouldn't solve this problem.

0 points for Apple so af....

I fully agree that Apple is not up to the circumstances in this GPS issue. And the news of this problem spreads quickly among GPS-smartphone users.

I wonder if this "patch" can help someone. After a few months without GPS signal at all (no Google maps, outdoors apps or CoPilot) I found by chance that if a kept my 3.5 jack of my headsets plugged into the iphone 3GS, I recovered the GPS signal (not perfect but at least satelites got locked and now I can drive, cycle or run following/recording tracks quite well). It's annoying to use the iphone constanly with the headsets but ... it is worse not having GPS.

Good luck.

Bonjour,

Hello,

Sincèrement, j'enrage...

I am very upset ...

Since IOS 5.0 update, i've lost GPS and WIFIfunctionality(max 2 meters from source).

I hate this lack of transparency that Apple does not publish anything about it. I hate the lack of information sites and newspapers in the pay of firms whose advertising revenues depend.
It gave me this device and at that price, I can not use the WiFi or GPS ...

Pitoyable.

Pitiful.

Je ne réclame pas un produit parfait, je réclame de l'honnèteté et du respect de mon statut de client.

I do not claim a perfect product, I demand honesty and respect for my customer status.

Un client très mécontent qui possède 2 iphones (3G + 3GS) et 1 ipad...

A very unhappy customer who has 2 iphones (3G + 3G) and an ipad...

APPLE, this is just marketing.

Grrrrrrrrrrr !
