Where did you see that there are "8 known bugs"? Or that "battery is one of them"? And was "battery one of them" for all of the other releases, as documented in all of these threads?

Battery Meter/Life Problems with 4.0.2
4.0.2 guzzling my battery. Your's too?
4.0.1 battery life
Battery runs out very quicky in iOS 4.0.1
Battery nearly nonexistant after 4.0 upgrade
Dead battery after few hours on standby using 4.0 software
3.1.3 battery problem
OS 3.1.3 battery issues
3.1.3 upgrade - shortened battery life?
Battery life cut after 3.1.3 update on iPhone 3G
3.1.3 Firmware is a battery killer - how do I back out this upgrade?
Poor battery life with iPhone 3G running 3.1.2
3.1.2 EXTREME battery drain - what gives?
3.1 Battery nightmare
iPhone 3GS with fw 3.1 – battery life gets even worse
Battery Issues with 3.0.1
BATTERY drain with 3.0
upgrade to 3.0 drains my battery
Battery Drain after Update 2.2.1
Battery Life Radically Decreased after 2.2.1 Firmware Update

My 4S gets better battery life on iOS 5 than my 3GS did on iOS 4.3.5. It didn't initially, but I deleted my Exchange account and added it back, and ran the battery all the way down and charged it to 100%. Since doing those two things my battery life has been excellent. Oh, BTW, I used those same fixes when I had battery life problems with 2.1, and with 3.1.3, and with 4.0. And also when my battery life went south a couple of times unassociated with any recent upgrade. There is nothing new in quirky battery life problems in iOS 5; they have been a fact of life with every update and even between updates.

I also see in this and other threads that many other people have fixed the battery life of their phones on iOS 5 and other releases.

yeah my battery is kinda same as yours and i think with all these features .. this is teh best we gonna get .... apple can still probably make it more efficient..... one thing i noticed that you mentioned too ,, as soon as u start using it u see a dramatic drop in % like in 5-10 mins if u do txts, typing, muxic and check mail and stuff .. its like 1% drop every 2 mins max..which is ridicolous.

I'll start with 3 bugs on iOS 5 first bug with iMessage when you want to send a video or text message together it crash , next springboard crash inside iOS 5 but you might not notice, Safari crash sometimes that true on iPad and iPhone. I can go on and on. iOS 5 is very buggy all the way back to iOS 5 beta. iOS 5 has been rewritten all over. It's not like version 1-4. Apple want to make iOS the main OS for Mac, laptop and all idevice for the future.

I found this post on the apple forum and it seems to have fixed or at the very least severely reduced the amount of battery drain I was seeing. I went to bed with 40% battery and woke up with a dead battery. After trying everything else to no avail I found the above post and tried removing my facebook app. No more battery drain. Went to bed last night with 36% battery, woke up and it was at 33%. Huge difference. Might not be the only problem app out there but it was on MY phone.

I FIX MY BATTERY PROBLEM FOR MY IPHONE 4/S

Guess what. It's all about the Sim Card. I took out my Sim card from my iPhone and notice it had some scratch on the Sim card. So I replace it and now I have no more battery drain on my phone. Up to par as my iPhone 4 was. Wow it was that easy.

PS: If your sim card is damage is some way that the problem.

Here is a video telling why.
