Double Message Alerts with iPhone 4s.

Has anyone encountered this problem? And, more importantly, figured out how to fix this?

My iPhone 4s gives two rapid sound alerts for one text message, and I cant understand why. Very annoying.

I believe I have half solved the problem .....

Like other users have posted, go notifications - messages & by turning off 'view in lock screen' will stop the double alert tone splutter!

Although once you have done this you have to unlock your phone & check your messages manually (which is a right pain) rather than them being presented to you on the lock screen!

I have tried resetting/hard resetting the phone & turning 'view in lock screen' back on in message notifcations & straight away the double spluttering comes back!!!!

So there is a way to stop it but it's not very convient & time consuming!

APPLE NEED TO SORT THIS OUT!

Hope this helps some of you guys out 🙂

*➕* Settings > Messages > Turn (OFF) iMessage

Than switch off your iPhone and switch on back. Send a message to yourself and lock the iPhone directly you should hear the message tone normaly .

*➕* Go back to Settings > Messages > Turn (ON) iMessage

After you turn on iMessage send a message to yourself and lock the iPhone directly , you should hear the message tone normaly.

*➕* Switch (OFF) the iPhone & Switch (ON) back than switch (OFF) again and remove the SIM card blow on it and put it back . Switch (ON) your iPhone and that's it 🙂

Im dealing with the same prob. First i had an iPhone 4 and since apple lunched iOS5 i updated my iPhone and i started facing that overlapping notification sound ! Then i brought the iPhone 4S and the same thing is happening overlapping notification at first i thought its a problem related to "Viber" i deleted it it worked but it doesn't make sence that an app affect the whole notification system in the iPhone and as i cn see here that we r alot of ppl whom r facing the prob so sure thats a software issue or maybe conflect between apps for example ( Whatsapp and viber r having problems if they r installed together ) but as i said that problem happened when i first installed iOS5

There is obviously some sort of memory leak in the iOS. One recommended fix with computers (I mean devices that have processor and memory etc etc not just PCs) when facing issues that present like this is to flsuh the memory by doing a hard reset.

I agree yes it is a temporary fix but a fix all the same. I have had this issue probably 3 times in the time I have owned my iPhone (from the 4 then to the 4S). It was also not just with iOS 5.

Try it, you will be pleasently surprised 🙂
