Double Message Alerts with iPhone 4s.

I filed a bug report with Apple about this issue. They said they're aware of it and are investigating.

I thing the problem is the option view to lock screen ... If disable to all notifications the problem is solved .. It's a bug hopping for fast resolve in 5.1 soon ...

Im having the same issue with my iphone 4 from sprint. Im currently on the phone with apple care and they dont have anything showing up on there message boards about this problem. And dont have any fix they put me on hold to talk to higher up management with apple care about issue.

I believe the problem has nothing to do with the lock screen like people are saying!

My reasoning behind this is - My iPhone 4s has been playing up with this 'spluttering' alert tones for months now, after reading this forum again yesterday I read something I haven't tried yet , which was turn off 'view in lock screen etc'

Turns out all of those settings were allready turned off anyway!

BOOM!

Back to page one again .....

Hello everyone.

This is my first post on this community...and I hope someone will find it helpful.

I don't know where the bug has found its origins...but for my iphone 4s and another iphone 4 both with ios 5.0.1 i found a solution.

Instructions follow:

-Go to settings-->notifications
-Disable notifications in lock screen for: email, Messages, viber and whatsapp.

-Reboot your phone (Turn off and turn on)

-Enable your notifications back as you prefer...

-that's it.

It worked fine for me and a friend of mine...please feed back if it works for you too.

Mine has been working for the past 2 weeks so far....

Found a guide here that explicitly fixes this problem. Has worked for a lot of people I know. Hope this can help you guys too.

this is weird....it would be nice to compare the phones where it worked and where it didn't...in order to understand what the difference is.

I don't know about the rest of the people with the problem but I have the iPhone 4s on sim free PAYG - would this have anything to do with the problem maybe?
