I don't know what visual voicemail is but here's your problem. You don't know how to access your voice mail unless it's set up under a little key for you. You first need to know how to manually access your voice mail. I just have to enter my phone number in an it connects me. That's why the first code works for me. Call your provider and ask them what phone number you need to enter to get to your vm. After that put this in your iPhone.

*5005*86*+thatnumber*

Make sure you don't miss the plus sign or star keys. This will work on an iPhone 4s.

Oh sorry thought you were in the US. Visual Voicemail is a feature that when you click on that button you can see who left you a message and play it from there.

But i can dial 123 and it will access my voicemail. But i hate doing it the manual way. But i tried it with 123 with the above code and still doesnt work. Still gives me the same message.

So im stuck. Wish they would help us out with this matter. I called my service provided and they dont know whats wrong.

The code you gave before was *5005*86*+123*. What i noticed different was the *5005* and now you have 5008*.

Thats all. No big deal i was just pointing it out.

But i did it with the code you just provided above and still doesnt work. When i press the call button it dails and i get the message that i told you about before and when i check the button it still says the same message about contacting my service provided.

It's ok. At lease you tried to help me out.

This is the same old code that has been used for all iPhones previous to the iPhone 4S.

They changed the method of programing the VM button from Code Programable to have it specified

in the "Carrier Bundle" which is either on the SIM card or downloaded from the carrier.

Many service providers do not know how to produce their own custom carrier bundle.

This is the problem.

Untill Apple decides to allow "Code Programing" to override the "Carrier Bundle" information for this function, no user programable code is going to work.

Apple needs to address and resolve this issue and it will have to be part of a future IOS update.

That is the only solution period.

@Subarudriver

Maybe Apple has changed the function of that code to tyrigger the download of a fresh "Carrier Bundle" and your carrier just happened to have an updated bundle available when you used the code.

That is the only explenation I can think of, unless you are using an iPhone 4, not a 4S.

I have tried your code and other variations of it on multiple iPhones (3, 4 and 4S) on 3 different carriers.

It only works on iPhone 3 and 4, not 4S.
