Exchange Account "Unable to verify account information"

New iPad 2 (i OS 5.0)

when trying to sync device to an Exchange 2007 account I keep getting an "Unable to verify account information" error.

All account information is correct, trust me on this...

Tried switching the SSL and S/MIME option OFF to no avail.

I can log into OWA (outlook web access) using Safari on the device using the same credentials.

This used to work on the old iPhones and iPads but with i OS 5 it will not.

Many thanks in advance and your time!

Okay, I am having a slightly different issue. I login onling through Outlook Web App for my email account. When I go to add a Microsoft Outlook account to my iPhone it doesn't take. When I add an Exchange account, I enter all required information and then click NEXT in the top right corner. Then it appears as if it's validating, but instead of reading "Unable to Verify" it just stays on the screen where you type in all the information, and the "NEXT" button is now gray'd out and unclickable.

I have no clue what to do. On the Web App there are no POP, etc settings; they all just say "Not Available".

I have no idea what to do. I'd rather have the "Unable to Verify" at this point.

Thanks!

I did all of this

"Email: The usual full email address of the user

Server: fully qualified name e.g. mail.servername.com

Domain: I DID fill this in with our domain name... I know that almost everyone claims this is optional. I filled it in.

Username: I only entered the SHORT name here - NOT the full email address. - e.g. aeinstein NOT aeinstein@domain.com

Password: the user's password

Finally, in my case SSL is enabled / S/MIME is disabled"

And it still not working. The Unable to verify account information continues to pop up.

I don't know what to do anymore.

I just got the new i6 phone and updated my iPad too. I'm getting "Exchange Can't Verify Server" on both devises.. However l did update 8.0s on my i5 an older iPad and didn't have issues. Note the updates happened with out any glitches. However with the new equipment is where I seem to have issues.. Any suggestions from anyone?

Hi,

I also have the same issue, I am trying to add my company email using an Exchange account on an iPhone 6 (iOS 8.1.1.)

I've tried this on Wi-Fi and 3G amd I've reset network settings.

I have entered my email, user name (tired both, email and alias), tried with and without domain, entered the correct server, but it says it's unable to connect.

However, a colleague of mine, with the same iOS version but an iPhone 5s could set it up.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Deshpandya,

I tried those too with a Exchange set up that kept resulting in "unable to verify account information." What worked in this situation was going to

Settings > General > Reset (located at the very bottom), then selecting "Reset Network Settings" and confirming, etc. until the iPhone restarts.

After restart is complete, start creating the Exchange account as usual. However, when you get the prompt that asks you to either "Cancel, Trust, or Continue," select TRUST, not Continue. This should get you through the process and give you your email.

One of our users just had this problem - after trying all the suggested solutions above (the user was an executive so he just left the device with us) I tried signing in to the web portal and found his password had expired! Creating a new password fixed it. So it might be worth checking that first if you run into this problem as it's the quickest and easiest solution.

After resetting my network settings and having no luck I went into the office365 portal and adjusted the settings in there. I found that my phone had been registered as a device when I originally set up my account using the Outlook app on my iPhone. I removed the device from the office365 website, removed the outlook app from my iPhone, reset the network settings on my phone and tried again. I also had to put "outlook.office365.com" into the advanced settings under server on the iPhone, but after that it worked. It also took about 10 minutes for everything to sync up, but it's working for me now.
