Ipad 1 slows down after installing IOS 5

Adter installing IOS 5 my Ipad 1 slows down considerably. Apps take time to start and especially the writing is so slow that I actually I cannot use the Pad anyomore. I udgraded only because I could not update imoorstant apps (keypad, pages) anymore with the old operating system. But this is no solution. Anyone elseexperiencing this problem or am I the only one?

Noticed the same problem with my iPad. Apps just keep crashing, take ages to open, keyboard lags....overall a very frustrating experience...

Not sure what to do? Does 5.1 help?

Apple needs to not forget the people that bought previous versions of their products. I hated the way virtually all iPad 1 accessories dissapeared when iPad 2 was launched? Is there an assumption at apple that just because a new iPad is out iPad 1 owners will no longer want to buy a dock or other accessory? A case even?

Now the software itself seems to have left the iPad 1 behind. Thanks a lot apple. $900 is no small sum of money to me and I bought my iPad day 1. This is the thanks I and others like me get...

Safari still crashes, keyboard response still slow, etc. after 5.1 (9B176) update.

Imagine Apple addressing this issue with suggestions for better performance, an IOS for the the iPad 1, or ANY acknowledgement! Why is this only a dream?

If I purchase a new iPad or iPhone how soon will it be crippled by the updated operating systems?

I don't think 5.1 will be the last update for 5.x...I think you'll see one or two more updates. iOS6 will be announced at WWDC this summer and iPhone 5 will introduce iOS6 in the Fall. Plenty of time for an update or two.

That said, if people are still having issues, the best way to get those logged is to call Apple support. This forum is handy to talk amongst ourselves but Apple will hear us better if we create a ticket and log an issue.

As if apple cares...

Apple being apple has and will always be like that. I am so frustratred too!

It's basically saying to us.. ok guys, we're not going to say we're not supporting your old ipad anymore, we're just going to pretend everything is working as it should and it's just time that you got our newest prodect.. ipad 3.

As much as I love apple products, I hate apple as a company... Their policies just suck.

Now every time I have to type something on the ipad I just hate it cause it's just so painful when it's being so sluggish.

PS: IOS 5.1 doesn't help.. not even a little bit!! As far as deleting icloud... I haven't even created an account!!

➕I GOT MY ORIGINAL iPAD BACK!!!!🙂➕

I just want to say to everyone that I managed to downgrade my ipad back to iOS v4.3.3 and it feels like my ipad is brand new!! Just google it and it can be done without jailbreaking.

I just can't describe how much better everything is.. my ipad feels snappy and responsive again!! Typing with the onscreen keyboard isn't sluggish anymore!!

It feels just like when I first got it!! Just one app didn't work and required ios v.5 all the rest worked fine!!

Just wanted to share that!!
