How do I change my iCloud account on my iPhone

I know i'm not the only one who ha the same prb out there, and I read a lots of stuff in the different discussions, but I want to make sure, so let me ask:

my wife and I share the same store account, and somehow when I set up our two iPhones, her iCloud account got attached to my Apple ID. Which obviously is not good, since we don't want to share all contacts and appointments, etc...

So, I just what to change her iCloud account from my apple ID to hers. How do I do that?

I am thinking to delete that account (settings->icloud->delete account), but i want to make sure this is not gonna wipe out all her data.

Also, I read somewhere on the Apple website that once you have attached your device to an iCloud account, you have to wait 90 days before to be able to change account. Is that true? Or deleting account will do it?

Thanks for your help.

Laurent

I believe that the icloud and old mobileME is natively tied to the appleID and that's the whole point and you will never be able to separate that tie

but I could be wrong

I can not delete the icloud account and add another because it says to turn off find my iphone and needs the password, but it has the wrong email connected for thee password and I can not change that. I have already tried all the things in this thread but it has not worked. Please help

Hey!

So I had an issue with this and after spending hours trying all the different ways of getting around it (trying to change to old Apple ID, resetting Facetime and iMessage, etc.) the thing that worked for me was a software update. Basically I updated to the newer version of iOS 7.0.4 and chose to skip the prompts to sign into the old (unusable) iCloud account. I then once again attempted to delete the old account in iCloud settings and it signed out (without needing a password) and allowed me to set up my regular Apple ID account. I don't know if it'll do that for you but if nothing else works, a software update might help.

Hi oasisblossom,

You need to delete the iCloud account, but in order to do so, you will have to follow these instructions:

1. Log onto Manage your Apple ID and change your Apple ID back to the ID that is showing on your iCloud account (this is temporary, so do not verify it - just click Done when you have changed it)

2. Go to Settings>iCloud on your device and scroll to the bottom to delete the iCloud account. Type in your current password when asked, then answer the prompts until the deletion is complete (the account is only being deleted from your phone, so when you sign iCloud back on, all of your info will re-sync to the device)

3. Go back into Manage your Apple ID and change your Apple ID back to your current Apple ID

4. Go back into Settings>iCloud and sign into iCloud with your current Apple ID

You should be all set.

So I have a similar problem where my dad got a new iPhone and he gave his old one to me to use as an iPod ect. It still has all if his photos ect. But I managed to change his email to mine but that's about it I just fixed it up and I really want to take pictures, notes, and get new music with out it going on his iPhone. I changed apple ID on lots of things but the 'delete account' button on the iCloud section scares me. If I hit that and it deletes everything on his or just screws his iPhone up I do not want to be at fault. If I hit that button will it allow me to change his iCloud account instead of actually deleting it?? Thanks!

You can delete it. It only deletes the iCloud data on that account from the device you are doing the Delete on. The iCloud account is still alive and well, and it will still share data with any other device signed onto it.

This is what will be removed from your device when you delete the iCloud account:

Notes on that iCloud account

Photo Stream Photos

Contacts on that iCloud account (which you can choose to keep on the phone during the delete process)

Calendar items from that iCloud account

All of these items will display as informational messages as the delete is taking place, with the exception of the Contacts, which you have the option to retain on the device.

Delete your Dad's iCloud account from your device by using his Apple ID and password to do the Delete. Then sign onto iCloud with your own Apple ID and turn on all of the functions you want to have sync'd with iCloud.

Post back if you have any questions!
