Visio does not works at Mac. But there is the free file viewer to view the Visio vsdx files. If you want to edit the visio file, you need use some Visio Mac alternative programs, such as Edraw Max.

Thanks for this. FYI in general: I know this is an old post, but it's still a relevant question, apparently. I'm job-seeking and this is one of the programs some employers would like candidates to know.
Please go back in the thread and read Kilted Tim's reply. It is still true now.
If you are seriously looking for a job that requires Visio, you need to consider getting a Windows PC or at the very least installing it on your Mac via Boot Camp.
Seems there's some people still confused by this. There definitely is no visio on mac but there are plenty of alternatives that can edit visio files. If it helps anyone, I found this article very useful: https://machow2.com/best-alternatives-visio-mac/
Office For Mac only includes Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint.
Visio is not available for Mac OS.
However, there are some alternatives that will read Visio on Mac OS X*:
P.S. The Mac Pro is a desktop. The MacBook Pro is a notebook computer labelled such under the screen. MAC is an acronym for Media Access Control, a network address for networking devices. Mac is shorthand for both the operating system and the computers made by Apple Inc.

Go here http://www.conceptdraw.com/products/conceptdraw-pro-2the manufacturer promises compatibility with Visio for Windows, I have not checked it out so look at it for your use.
If you just want to draw a few disgarams, Pages (part of the Apple iWork suite) has object and line drawing capabilities.
I'm using ConceptDraw Pro 9 on mac as an alternative, it is compatible with viso xml and has amazing libraries, check out their samples gallery: http://www.conceptdraw.com/samples/about-samples

Ok, I know this is an old thread, but seriously? Just relax. People are going to be saying iTouch, Mac Store, Oh Es Ex, etc... no matter how enlightened you try to make everyone. So they capitalized MAC. It's clear what they were talking about. Just calm down and don't be that IT guy. It's people like you who give us a bad name. On second thought, keep it up. It makes friendly people like me more attractive for job openings. 😉
You resurrected an 18 month old thread to say that? Good luck with the job openings.
Yes, I did. There's no statute of limitations on rudeness. And I'm happily employeed, so no luck needed.

Well thanks for the (eventual) input then.
I feel compelled to stick up for a brody.
While one wants to be getle and graceful with corrections- -and as much as I don't like being a stickler for precision- -if one spends all day in IT matters, the misplaced caps (ie.e, MAC the acronym vs Mac the abbreviation/nickname) does cause an annoying cognitive stumble. It's like having to read a sentace three times beacuse of a confusing mispelling or gramatical flop.
I am often guilty of this kind of foible; my colleagues will be happy to assert my lack of spelling and typing skills. One does well to be aware of correct forms even if we don't always hit the mark.
