Does Microsoft Visio work on MACs? If not, are their plans to make it work? Are their comprable tools on MAC?

Visio does not works at Mac. But there is the free file viewer to view the Visio vsdx files. If you want to edit the visio file, you need use some Visio Mac alternative programs, such as Edraw Max.

No, Visio is still not working on Mac OS X. And I doubt if it ever will. There are several solutions to this problem: other complex diagramming and vector graphics applications mentioned above, operate on crossplatform app, use online converters or use visio viewers, like this one.


Thus there are 4 solutions to open Visio on Mac, each with benefits and drawback, so it's up to you to chose optimal.

MAC - Machine Address Code not Media Access Control in the context the you stated your contention. If you are going to correct people...at least be correct. Media Access Control refers to the Cisco OSI model for networking, being the layer where MAC addresses reign supreme Layer 2 as it were. This may be a really old thread, but the desire for Visio on a Macintosh device is still quite in demand. Time to go download Virtual Box and do this Ubuntu style.
