weather widget not working
As of today, the standard Weather Widget is not updating on 10.5 or 10.4 Macs, both at work and home. Wondering if AccuWeather is having an issue.
iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

This solved my problem. I'm running macOS Sierra 10.12.3 on a a MacBook Pro Mid 2012.
Be sure to restart in Recovery Mode, run Terminal, disable Integrity Control with "csrutil disable" and reboot.
Once you reboot, copy weatherParser.js to /System/Library/WidgetResources/.parsers/ using Terminal, don't drag and drop on Finder, this was a huge mistake I made and took me hours to realize why the solution wasn't working.
Second option is to edit /System/Library/WidgetResources/.parsers/weatherParser.js and change modifications stated in commit #2, it's just adding 4 lines of code, can be done with nano editor without difficulties.

Thanks!!
Same here...
I've sent an email to them using their contact form. Will see what happens.
Got a reply from Accuweather within hours of my contacting them... amazing.
Here's their reply, which isn't amazing:
The application you are using was developed by a 3rd party manufacturer. AccuWeather only supplies the weather data and cannot support the application itself. Please contact the store where you purchased the device or the device manufacturer for support. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Console log says "Fetching data failed". Does the Weather widget go directly to Accuweather, or is it blocked somewhere else?
Curious. Does Apple have a hand in this failure?
Even more interesting is if one takes the weather widget from 10.6 (which goes to weather.com) and runs it under 10.5, one still gets the same problem.
I'm having the same problem. If anyone figures it out, hope you will post.
I have both tiger and leopard on my imac under a dual-boot setup, so I can boot to either OS. in tiger, the weather widget is not working today, but when I boot to leopard it is. not sure why it would work under one OS and not the other. ???
My Tiger widget isn't working but one I downloaded from Accuweather is working (under Tiger). See my posts at
I'm having the same issue and no one seems to have been able to provide a solid response to the problem. It's quite annoying.
This is what my widget currently looks like, with the white circle constantly throbbing. I can select information and change city and unit, but it doesn't seem to register with the app itself.
Because no one has solved it yet.
I was sure that taking to Widget from OS 10.6 (where it points to weather.com and still functions) would work in OS 10.5, but it suffers the same problem.
Lets hope some resourceful soul figures out how to make things work in 10.5
Well there is that widget from Accuweather.com that works in Tiger so would presumably work in Leopard. The images aren't as pretty but oh well, gotta rough it with these decrepit operating systems.
Same problem here for the last few days on my G5 w/Leopard. Too bad, I really like that little thing.
Besides the onr Limnos suggested, this one works...
