1st Gen Nano Recall Notification

Finally! I got notification from Apple this evening that they will be replacing my 1st gen nano. I had to verify serial number, but other than that they said they will send me packing materials and instructions to send it back and they will send me a replacement. They didn't say what they would replace it with (refurbish 1st gen, 2nd gen, 3rd gen...). Anyone have an inkling?

I just got my new Nano and quite frankly, I hate it. I would have been happier with a replacement of the original! I don't currently have any other touch devices and so it is absolutely non-intuitive for me. If I can get it to play I end up stuck in Album and can't figure out how to get back to the playlist or anything else. (I don't want to spend all day in the depressing world of Amy Weinhouse, LOL) The user guide I downloaded does not have enough specific instruction on how to navigate. I like my 5G Nano so much better, with its video camera, video viewing, bigger screen, and controls that I can operate without having to look at them.

I wonder if too many people were so happy with a Nano they passed on a more expensive iPod Classic or Touch?

When I do get the 6G figured out, though, I'm fixing it up with a watchband, LOL!

Well yeah me too it tools 6 years to understand how to go back in iPod nano 1g... Hitting up button to go left... ;)

Okay stop the jokes, just try intuitively to imagine what you would do to go to the left having a touchscreen ? Swipe from left to right like you are moving a paper...

Sooo complicated that you are the first one i hear that complains about that ;)

And don't be afraid of this tiny masterpiece of art, it won't bite you, have fun to turn it all direction, swiping from top to bottom, left to right, double tap and my best one after eating French fries and burger, the French kiss swipe with your tong your iPod nano smells ketchup and it's amaaaazing... :) enjoy !

I had two 1st gen nano's, requested the replacements on 18/11 and 30/11 - don't think my repair status' ever changed. I have no had both of the replacements, one came two weeks ago and the other today, both 8GB touch screen ones - fantastic.

Well done Apple, great customer service, yes it did take approximately 8 weeks for each one but well worth it in the end since both of them had been just away in a drawer and I tend to use my iPhone for everything - now I have another option and I have used its quite a lot, the sound record facility and the radio option are great.
