ipod nano 1st gen replacement program

Hello

I read about the problems and the program online and applied and was found that my nano is part of those affected.

Received confirmed email that a package was being sent out but i applied on sun 13th november and have not received

this package for this whole week, Apple said to expect it with 2 business days. If i have not received the package within the expected time

stated how can i send it back within the 10 days time limit they've placed to resend the nano to them?

Does anyone know what mail service they are using to send the nano replacement package out to customers in the UK?

I'm guessing it's probably royal mail (-_-)*

What is the best thing to do, as i don't want to keep a ticking time bomb around the house, and the email is sent from don't reply address?

So there is no way to contact them from my personal replacement status page, hence why i have posted here for any advice please?

Thanks in advance

Also in the UK - I have the exact same problem.

Getting the packaging was not a problem for me - turned up within a week. My concern is that I returned it Nov 28th, and still showing Stage 1 (have been checking since I got the first email and posted it off). Would be really nice for Apple to at least acknowledge that it's been received, and give some sort of contact capability - all I seem to be able to do is pay to speak to them - I just want to know if I need to claim my money from the post office or not!

I posted mine off around the same time as you and haven't had confirmation that they've received it. The only thing that is slightly reassuring to me is that a friend of mine did hers a few days earlier than me and they've only just acknowledged hers so I'm hoping it's only a matter of time for the rest of us.

Having accepted I'm not going to have a shiny new iPod in time for Christmas, it would just be nice to know they've got the old one.

I was in the same boat, requested on 14th Nov, box arrived a week later, I sent it off, then nothing for 2 weeks so I logged a call on the support page and they phoned me and could tell me that they received the package. Now the status is at "Product replacement pending" since yesterday, so heres hoping I get my "new" one within the 6 weeks they promised. Will update if any more news!

I was the same, not knowing if they received it, so after looking around the support site I took a chance and used the Express Lane option, they were very quick to call me and although I didnt have an Apple Care subscription they were able to tell me that they at least received the package, heres a link to were I found it, I am in Ireland, so I presume there is a site for werever u are, hope it helps.! https://expresslane.apple.com/GetproductgroupList.do?PRKEYS=PF3

Just spoken to someone at Apple and this guy confirmed that they expected about 50 - 60,000 of them to be shipped back but got around 1.5million of them so far. Their system has a backlog and this guy can't even check the status himself.

Any way i don't know if this might give us all a bit of hope but when i asked him what will my iPod be replaced with and he confirmed that it will be the newer model which has touchscreen which looks like a "watch" (ipod 6th Generation) and will be a 8GB one which can be found at http://www.apple.com/ipodnano/ ... i personally DO mind if they send me out this particular model because (A) it's so girly looking and (B) i want something that will play my music and video (i know i know i'm a fussy little git i am)

I've just read that Apple will replace the faulty 1st gen nanos with 1st gen nanos. Not the newer models

Why Apple would have that many 1st gen nanos available is unclear. Seems odd to me.

It was odd that Apple wasn't clear about it all from the beginning.

As long as whatever comes back can do everything that the nano you sent them can do. All is well
