Ipod Nano 1st Gen. Replacement - status/follow up?

I submitted a replacement request on 11/13 and immediately received an email confirmation. Since then I haven't heard anything, when I check the status it days"diagnosis pending", is there anyway to follow up?

I submitted my request on 11/12. I immediately received an e-mail confirmation that the return box will arrive in two business days. It has been almost four weeks and I still have not received the box. When I called (twice), I was told that there has been a delay in shipping out the boxes and there is no time frame as to when Apple will be getting the boxes to be shipped out.

It would have been nice to have received an update from Apple instead of making me wait. I'm sure Dell or Microsoft wouldn't treat their customers that way. lol.

Not sure if I'm even going to bother sending my iPod in after all this hassle - I use it regularly but I'm not keen on having to wait weeks just to receive a box, let alone a replacement. Would be much more efficient being able to replace the 1st Gen with the latest model at local Apple stores - sure they might lose a few bucks, but it's not like Apple's a struggling company. This would also satisfy the customers better as well.

exactly same situation as mine. I even have called Royal mail if I could track my Nono's been delivered, but I was told that the tracking number that I was given by Apple was unable to track as it was to the company(??)...Anyway, the royal staff told me that they only could let me know the parcel's delivered or not after 14th Dec. I have tried to call Apple support centre to chase up the service status, but no one picked up the phone...A little disappointed with the apple service to be honest.

So glad I found this discussion. I was convinced my nano was lost in the post but now I have hope. I returned my nano in the envelopes ( one padded and one grey plastic - not a box) sent by apple on 28th Nov but haven't received an email yet to say it has arrived. I keep checking my repair status but it says box shipped. Not a chance of getting it back for Christmas is there? I wouldn't mind a brand new first gen nano but I don't want someone else's pre-loved model that's been cleaned up and has a new battery.
