    Just curious about times for status to change in Canada.

     

    Sent notification - November 29th

    Recieved box - December 22nd

    Sent back - December 29th.

     

    According to tracking they recieved it January 3rd, but its currently January 13th and my status still says "Dec 21st: Empty Box Shipped".

    I am in Canada as well. Mine reached the repair centre on Dec 22 and new one was sent out on January 6th. I received it Jan 11. My status went from empty box sent to product sent out with the tracking info - i never had the "inbetween" stuff others mention. It looks like sometimes Apple forgets to update and send out info so i would wait a bit longer with your fingers crossed

    Oh, you'll get the replacement -- but if you use your iPod for listening to podcasts, you will be really ******.  And if you like to change its functions when it's in your pocket, without looking at it, you will be really ******.  If you're used to putting on the "lock" so it doesn't change functions, you will be really ******.  What they send is the latest iPod, a tiny thing with some whizbang bells and whistles that seem great at first but then you try to use the device and you quickly realize what an ill-designed disaster this device is.  I've called and emailed Apple and did speak to a rep, who was sympathetic as all get-out while being completely ineffectual, but was not able to help get me what I want -- another earlier generation iPod that worked like the one I had.  I loathe this piece of crap.  Apple's designers really sunk to the bottom when they created this piece o' crap. 

     

    If yours works fine now, keep it.  Or contact me if you want this new mofo and I'll swap you.

    Well I did get "replacement pending" as a status, unfortunately that was a week ago and still no follow up. Fingers crossed that it will only be a week or so now.

     

    As for getting back a 6th Gen, doesn't bug me at all. I have a touch for travel and an ipad for everything else. My old Nano's where in my car or on my stereo dock at home to shuffle songs and nothing else. So an upgrade from 1GB and 2GB to two 8GB nanos suits me just fine.

    ive been waiting for ages i sent off my i pod mid nov splacement product pending since 17th dec other people havesent theirs in well after mine and got replacements ive even heard a rumour they're not sending 6th gen out anymore i am in the uk

    Can anyone tell me how to check status, I wasn't sent a 'case or repair ID', and didn't receive an email either, just the bag to send it back in?

    You need a case number to get that status though right, I've not got one, and never received an email, only the envelope to send back, which i did

    Did everyone get an email sent to them when they applied, or are you just signing in to repair status on here?

    If you signed up for the replacement using your Apple ID you can use that to check your repair status. That's how I have been checking mine.

    72 days and counting since I filed for the replacement program. Status is still Diagnosis Pending.

    Yeah well, I mailed mine back to Apple on NOVEMBER 22! and it still says "Empty Box Shipped"

     

    Thanks a lot Apple - now I have no iPod at all.

    Might want to check in that and track you return in regards to:

    As something doesn't seem right, like they never received it?
