Can't log into iCloud with Apple ID

When I try to log into iCloud on my Windows 7 64-bit PC, with it running alongside iTunes 10.5.2.11, I am given this error message:


User uploaded file


"Cannot Sign Up - This Apple ID is valid, but is not an iCloud account."


I have checked repeatedly for updates to my operating system, as well as iTunes and my iPod Nano. I've made absolutely sure to type in my login info carefully and correctly. What is going on here? So frustrating...

  • I am able to login on the web into iCloud using the browser.
  • When I attempt login from the iCloud client on Windows 7 64 bit SP1l the error is offered after the spinner stops.
  • The error is "you can't login because of a server error" and to the right a link for iCloud status.
  • I have performed a "Netsh winsock reset" (which by the way is no soloution, it is a harsh approach to a resolve) and for me, as well as others, it did not work. I found ports open and other operations are normal.
  • Other cloud products work fine Others like GOOGLE DRIVE GOOGLE DRIVE GOOGLE DRIVE GOOGLE DRIVE GOOGLE DRIVE GOOGLE DRIVE GOOGLE DRIVE GOOGLE DRIVE GOOGLE DRIVE GOOGLE DRIVE GOOGLE DRIVE GOOGLE DRIVE GOOGLE DRIVE GOOGLE DRIVE GOOGLE DRIVE GOOGLE DRIVE GOOGLE DRIVE GOOGLE DRIVE GOOGLE DRIVE GOOGLE DRIVE GOOGLE DRIVE GOOGLE DRIVE GOOGLE DRIVE works fine.

MY PROBLEM IS REDOWNLOADING PREVIOUS PURCHASES-

WHICH I THINK I NEED ICLOUD FOR

WHICH I CANT LOG INTO BECAUSE IT KEEPS TELLING ME MY APPLE ID IS A VALID APPLE ID ACCOUNT BUT NOT AN ICLOUD ACCOUNT
