Error in iTunes Match - "This item cannot be downloaded"

Has anyone else had this issue? I've searched on here but can't see any mention of it.

I have recently uploaded several albums from my pc into iTunes Match and some of the songs were 'matched' and some 'uploaded'. However, when I try to download these songs to my iPhone, only the matched ones download. The uploaded ones give the following error...

This item cannot be downloaded

The item you have requested is not available for download

The status for these songs in itunes on my pc says Uploaded (no errors) and they are all in Apple Lossless format. I am wondering if the Apple servers need to convert them to 256kps format before they are available for download? But these songs were uploaded a couple of days ago and still won't download. I uploaded some other Lossless songs last week and they were available for download on my iphone almost immediately.

Any help most appreciated!

Thanks.

I have found the solution to most of these problems it seems.

I was having this very same issue with a growing number of songs in my iTunes Match, all of which, for me, were actually uploaded to the iTunes Match Cloud, not Matched with their database. After speaking with a Senior Advisor at Apple about this issue we broke down and figured out it was likely data corruption on the match storage servers.

FAIR WARNING before I explain the solution: You will need the original song files or CD to re-add and match to correct this issue.

The solution was to, in iTunes, select the song(s) in question, Song->Delete from Library. (You may need to do this twice). It will ask if you want to delete it from iCloud, you will need to say yes. This will delete it from all linked devices as well, so you will need to re-add them from the original files, then re-add them to your playlists appropriately.

Once you've re-added the song files back to iTunes, in File->Library->Update iCloud Music Library will re-add them to your iTunes Match, either by Matching or Uploading again.

I know it's like a broken record, but I have the same issue. I have just over 25k songs, and the issue seems to be more and more rampant. I picked 4 albums at random today, and each one had at least one track that gave me the error.

Unfortunately, any album that owned the physical CD of is deleted from my hard drive with only the download button to have access to the song. I did this to clear up space on my HD because my music library is larger than my 250GB hard drive.

Now, any files that I have deleted and don't show up as able to be downloaded are sort-of lost at this point. I really hope this gets fixed. I really, REALLY don't want to have to re-rip 1k CD's...again. /rant

Same issue here. Error (11111) in iTunes and "This item cannot be downloaded" on iOS.

Notably, Radiohead's "High & Dry" and "No Surprises" failed. The rest of the albums they're on downloaded without issue

What also irks me, besides the fear that I'll lose music, is inconsistencies in matching. I have albums for which some tracks are tagged as "Matched," while other tracks from the same albums are listed as "Uploaded." Some tracks have artwork, while others don't.

Not acceptable for a paid service. I'm really glad that I've held off on deleting lower bitrate tracks from my main Library. Like another poster here, I REALLY don't want to re-rip CDs.

In my case I had the problem with the Album "Siames Dream" from Smashing Pumpkins.

I deleted all songs from my Mac and iCloud and tried re-importing.

When I saw that the Cover Artwork changed, I checked on the iTunes Store and funny thing: The original Album doesn't exist anymore, only a Remastered and a Deluxe Edition.

Now I am stuck as the tracks from my original CD of the original release from 1993 can't match with iTunes.

Anybody else noticed this?

Not sure what to think, but if this happens in the future it would be great if Apple could keep also the original Album on their servers so at least you can match your CD Rips...

Yep, seems to be able to download my problem tracks. Finally. All songs downloaded. I'll have to dig into see what match/uploaded statuses changed.

Also, the problem of trying to download every purchased TV show and movie everytime I start itunes seems to be fixed. Every TV show, movie (from digital copy codes in bluray discs), and some iphone apps would always start downloading every time I started itunes. I'd have to manually delete from downloads each time. This seems to have been fixed also.
