CUI CUI CUI error 10.7.3 all apps crashes

I have the exact same error. 2011 15" MacBook Pro. Trying a reinstall from a Lion Restore Disk now. If it fails, I'll use my last 10.7.2 TM backup.

Do you have a screenshot of the CUI error? If so, could you post it? I would like to include it in an article I am wriring about this matter...if that's okay. Thanks!

Mac Pro here with CUI images and crashes everywhere after update through Software Update. Downloading combo pack as we speak. Very un-Apple update.

I was bitten with this one as well on my MacBook Pro. Trying to download the combo and boot into target disk mode.

Please tell me how do you install the combo pack?

Combo update worked for me after Time Machine restore.

Interestingly I remember my original software update did fail once but then completed. Who else had a download issue the first time?

hi guy i also have the same errore cui cui cui but how i can restore without time machine?

with thecomboupdatecopied toa usb disk i can restore all setting o i lost all my work on the mac...?

Do I need to restore from time machine before installing combo pack or can I just install combo pack from boot? If from boot, what keys do you have to hold down to get into the right menu?

Considering the very small amount of people it's affecting, it's certainly some obscure issue. Rerun the update and it'll be fine.

Same issue here. My Mac has been rendered completely useless. Please fix this ASAP Apple!!

I'm having to punt and restore from this morning's Time Machine backups as well. Same reason - couldn't do anything at all on the system. Horrible.
