Once my book is uploaded, how long before it appears in iTunes?
Uploaded the book several days ago and haven't seen it yet.

If this is your upload, it may take a while. New iAuthor files are taking a while on their own. I know the waiting period can be nerveracking. Others on the forum feel the same way. - Fabe
And the answer is, less than 24 hours. It was there when I got home from work today.
I wonder if it's because it's a free book this time?
Interesting...I am still waiting!
Never mind, I just check and it was published! 🙂
Hi again,
I suppose this might not be the correct thread, but I have a dashboard widget that I want to submit to Apple dowloads. How do I get it there? Thanks.
I want it availiable on this site:
I submitted on 4 June - accepted on 8 June - not bad really.
I DO wish they would send an email however.
Interesting, I got an email for one of my books, not the other.
Everyone should stay used to WWDC today—there might be some news pertaining to new store features for us authors/developers!
My account validation email was never sent, but after a few days I could go ahead and just login to iTunes Connect.
My book review cycle took 7 days and 3 iterations. Mostly no links to YouTube videos (instead included videos only) and no links to books on Amazon. Photos and videos are big part of my cycling and climbing adventure book. Including all ten 5min videos would have bloated the iBook by about 1GB, leaving them out wouldn't be good either. So I decided to include abbreviated 1min versions of each, with a link to my companion website for the full versions. Check it out:

Response time was usually next day, once 4 days over weekend. Not stellar, but ok.
Bottom line: Store support (for authors) is poor, but the iBooks Author tool and the iBook reading experience on the iPad is great! And that's the only thing that matters in the end.

Your experience is a massive improvement over what people have reported here as recently as a few weeks ago. Count yourself lucky! It looks like Apple are getting some of the procedural problems under control, which is good news. Recently, people have reported much shorter wait times for review.

Yes,back in Feburary, I waited over a month. Then in May, 2 weeks. 2 weeks ago, it only took 4 days! Glad to see this improvement. Thanks Apple! :)
Hi everyone,
I need to edit the "category" of my textbook. I want to change the primary field to "social science." I have done this in iTunes Connect. However, I know that some metadata cannot be changed and requires permission via Apple. Can I change this? Thanks.
Regards,
Gregg
Hope this speed up rings true for updates also 🙂 I've got a couple of extra chapters ready to go but trying to time things so that if there was another 8 week delay or by some bizarre happenstance the book was pulled during the process it wouldn't be disastrous.
Also I couldn't work out how to easily update the book. It really isn't a smooth and foolproof process imo. If I've done all of the ISBN/tags/description stuff why do it again if I want to add a chapter or two? Odd.
My book did have a lovely review though, which was nice. Almost makes the four weeks work 13 weeks waiting worth it 🙂 http://www.ipadcreative.com/blog/2012/6/11/book-review-stylus-t-frog-and-the-wea pons-of-mass-constructi.html
I too had worried about updating but I have now done it a couple of times and it has gone smoothly, taking only a few hours for the new version to show up in the iBookstore.

Hi everyone,
At the end of my ebook, I have a "follow us" page. I've included my Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ accounts. I also want to feature my Instagram account along with the Instagram logo. Can I do this or must I accompany the logo with legal information? Thank you.
Regards,
Gregg M.
