iTunes is configured to syncronize notes from my iPhone but where do I find them? Is this like photos and videos where I have to buy a $15 application to actually get my iPhone to work with my Mac? It seems like every function requires me to buy a new app. It would be nice if I could just access the phone's file system and just copy files back and forth.

Open Mail on your Mac, if you have 'Show Notes in Inbox' checked in preferences they will appear there. If not, check down the left hand side, they should show up there.

I believe they are synced to mac Mail, on the left sidebar under Reminders (at the bottom).

Incidentally, it's not necessary to buy a $15 app to get photos and videos onto your Mac either. Everything you need is built-in. Anything more is optional.

Thanks. Weird place for Apple to stick notes, but I'm getting used to the non-intuitive way they do stuff.
But, no notes syncing.
I found the Notes thingy in Mail, but there are no notes there.

Also, to sync the Notes to Mail, you have to check "Show Notes in Inbox" in Mail Prefs, (as already stated in this thread).
Thanks but I've been through Mail (version 5.2) Preferences 3 times and don't see any such option.
iPhoto isn't free. It's $15.
I don't think there's a free way to view/copy contents of iPhone to Mac.
If you are not syncing your notes over the air using iCloud then you need to enable Sync Notes in iTunes. Connect your iPhone to iTunes, go to the Info tab and check the box under Other.
My phone is set to sync via iCloud.

Mail > Prefs > Accounts > (your account) > Mailbox Behaviors > Notes >Show Notes in Inbox

Image Capture comes free with every Mac.
Thanks. Now I wish I hadn't wasted my money on iPhoto and iMovie, but that's what Apple tech support told me I needed to get.
