Where do iPhone notes sync to on my Mac?

iTunes is configured to syncronize notes from my iPhone but where do I find them? Is this like photos and videos where I have to buy a $15 application to actually get my iPhone to work with my Mac? It seems like every function requires me to buy a new app. It would be nice if I could just access the phone's file system and just copy files back and forth.

Open Mail on your Mac, if you have 'Show Notes in Inbox' checked in preferences they will appear there. If not, check down the left hand side, they should show up there.

My 8 month old daughter dropped my phone and now the screen does not light up, yet I am still able to use Siri...just can't see anything on my phone. I want to make sure I back up the contents of my phone before purchasing a new one. When I go to "Notes" in my mail program, the most recent ones (which happen to be the ones I need) do not show up. I'm very sad as I took notes on my daughters development and milestones. Does anyone know what might be stopping it from syncing my newest notes?

Note: my phone did not have enough memory to update to lates OS so I am using iphone software 5.1.1

I have already gone into mail preferences and asked it to sync and show notes in inbox. I only see earlier notes

Re: syncing Notes:

I have read through this whole string of posts and am no wiser, I'm afraid.

I have an iPhone 3G and a Mac mini with OS 10.8.5 (Mountain Lion). I do not use iCloud. iTunes and other standard apps. on my Mac are up to date.

1. Notes do not appear in Mail.

2. I can find no 'Notes' folder in Gmail.

3. On my Mac, I have the separate 'Notes' app that came with the Mac, but nothing syncs.

4. In iTunes I can find nothing about syncing Notes.

Please could someone tell me how to make Notes sync on this set-up? Thank you very much.

PS: Further to the above post, I have gone to System Preferences/Mail, Contacts & Calendars and ensured that 'Notes' is checked. But (whether this is relevant or not I do not understand) when I checked 'Calendar' and 'Contacts' and put in my internet password, the system would not accept it. My e-mail account with BT Internet is a POP account. Is this relevant?

So none of these options worked for me, as I, like the rest of you, couldn't find where Notes had gotten to in the new Mail app (Mavericks). I thought I'd add my painful solution to help us bridge the gap until the location surfaced: I used Airdrop to send the notes from my old iPhone to the New one. I tried sending via Airdrop to the Mac, but that was fruitless. At least you get to move it to another iOS device without having to retype your email address a hundred times when you mail each one.

Hope this helped a bit.

Good luck!

As it’s called “Notes” on your iPhone, and looks just like “Notes” on your laptop/desktop, you’d think the two would be able to sync with each other. But they don't, and apparently they're not designed to. Don’t know why that design decision, which flies in the face of all other Apple iOS-OS integrative design (e.g., iTunes, iPhoto, Calendar, Mail, etc…), was made. I’m in the same boat as the last two posts, none of the above options work for me, for similar reasons. So I’m relegated to emailing myself Notes if I want backups. Worse, if edits are made to them (as I use Notes for short creative ideas and lists, they often are), then I must manage all future edits by hand.

I have OSX Yosemite version 10.10.5 and there are no notes in my Mail application. There used to be in the earlier version and the synchronizing with the iphone was done through Mail.

Now I have a Notes application in my Mac not in Mail, but it does not synchornize at all.

In my iPhone 5 (version 9 recently dowloaded) There are thee types of notes ICloud, gmail and iPhone. Very confusing!!!!!

er.....we're forbidden at work from having the latest software (by policy); we just this past week upgraded to OS 10.10 Yosemite at work. Yosemite's Notes still won't synch with my iPhone's Notes. The sole reason I have Apple products at home, work, and phone, is for everything to synch. And that's what Apple advertises. So why don't they synch?

I have the same problem and have wasted far too much time on iCloud sync issues, mostly in it's merging contacts that might have the same first name without asking. This has happened twice after iTunes updated.

I have been using Apple since 2002 and my conclusion is that there are too many worms working there that are biting off big chunks of time in our lives with the crap they design. Things that should be common sense become crazy, like "WHERE THE **** ARE THE SYNCED NOTES???" Why is that even an issue???

I'm going to buy a cheap smartphone (NOT an iPhone) and slowly rebuild my contacts & notes etc. using only Gmail and see if that's any better. At the very least, the wasted time doing that will be create a clean backup.

Where do iPhone notes sync to on my Mac?
