MacPro Won't Boot, Rolling Back OSX

Hello.

I guesst this is the part-2 of my journey [ Lion Downgrade to SnowLeopard, MacPro ]

So, I thought I'm all good to go with my new MacPro but after setting up my user accounts and permissions and some applications, I got this problem.

Here's a little backtrack, I needed to roll back OSX for our primary application Avid MC5 :

Reformatted Hdrive/Installed SnowLeo. CD (10.6.3) / installed UpdateCombo (10.6.8) [target mode-MAcPro-MacPro-FW800]
migrated user account/files using MigrationAssist. [target mode]
Snow running well, AvidMC-5 on migrated user account
set permissions of hard drives (info/sharing&permission)
got errors (error16) when launching apps like Photoshop, Audition-trial...
Shut down to reboot... NO BOOT (only gray apple)

Now, I'm running DiskUtility, repairing permission via target mode...

Any ideas or recommendations?

The notice is gone after I removed all the items in the folder & restarted. And also that epic permission repair, got completed too. No, I did not try applejack.

Nothing seemed to hurt MacPro...or is there something I need to worry about with what I did?

we just the apps running upon start up of the computer., are the apps still launching when you run them?

i think you should really worry, they were disabled by the OS anyway.

from what i recall, start up items getting disabled was popular during the leopard to snow leopard upgrade days.

yeah, I'm worried now...my Avid license activation is failing! I'm returning the StartUp items and try fix permission/ownership of folder.

Update:

Returned StartUpItems,
Repaired permissions (recoverty mode)
startup to normal
back to Insecure StartUpItems notice!
Avid license activation still failing!

Im going home now. If nothing else, I'm blasting this tomnorrow.

silly question, is it fully compatible with snow leopard? maybe contacting their support team is the best solution for the activation issue.

Yes it is. Avid MC 5.0.4 runs fine for over a year at my old MacPro (OSX 10.6.8). And also, it ran on the new MacPro for a few days, until the permission got messed up.
