the payment card you entered is not valid in the United Kingdom

I also encountered the same problem in Slovenian iTunes store. Yesterday it worked fine but today it won't accept any of the two different VISA cards I tried. I hope there was no security breach at Apple and that our credit cards are safe.

Same issues in Romania. Yesterday I could made the purches TODAY NOT. Something is happening with apple payment system. Hope that our sensitive information is not compromise.

I'm waiting for a fast fix for this (as it is in their best interest to solve this as they are loosing big $ ).

Would have been nice a message from them telling us that the payment system is down. This way we wouldn't had try 1000+ different credit cards before finding this thread. Bad Apple, bad !

Same here in Ireland NOT WORKING I had to update my card as other one is out of Date surely it can't take that long to get it fixed and APPLE LISTEN UP - It would be nice to give every User a €5 - $7 - £5 Voucher as a way of saying sorry for this inconvenience it would really put a SMILE on everyones face - It would be nice if you could do that please I hope you get it fixed ASAP.

Same problem here - It says my "The payment card you entered is not valid in Finland. Please provide a valid payment card for Finland' even if the Visa issued to me is from Finland with Finnish bank numbers and my one and only apple account is registed to Finland (I just recently moved to UK, but obviously my geographical location shouldn't matter as long as I buy stuff from that specific app store my payment card is registered to).

Tried my Nordea card too and a switch from Slovak to Finnish account, same thing. Apparently this is a widely spread issue. Guess guys at Apple will notice that the app purchase counter has slowed down 😉

same issue here. have a new iMac and can't authorise it to buy apps from the Mac App Store. Credit card is perfectly valid and I've tried a few others; no luck with any of them. My laptop, iPhone and iPad still work OK and I buy stuff, just nothing on the new iMac.

I bought a new ipad last night. Looks like this problem has effected everyone who bought a new apple product yesterday. I'm dissapointed in apple. I contacted them and they said its a problem with my bank... Which it clearly is not. Used 3 different cards (including mastercard)

No, it's not "new products" alone, some of us have had iPads, iPhones and Macs for years are also affected by this.

It's putting me off purchasing the Itunes Match I was trying to buy last night, I don't fancy paying for it if it's going to just give up working when Apple decide they can't be bothered to address non-USA based issues.

I'm using Visa Debit. I had a new card issued as my other one expired, only 2 numbers changed on it and the security number obviously. It's telling me the number is wrong, not the 3 digit security code...

Both myself and my wife have had the same problem - we were trying to change credit cards details as the old ones had expired. Is this still a common problem or has the issue that started on 5th been resolved?

Not resolved as I know of.

So far it looks like anyone outside the US is having problems.

Same problem in Hungary. My credit card was fine 2 days ago, now it is not accepted. Its OK to have some techical problems for a company like apple, annoying thing is they dont even tell a word about it. Not too fair, especially when its about my credit card security. Maybe someone hacked their database??

Yep, same issue here: resident in the UK with a UK Visa debit card that has been perfectly fine for the past 2 years is suddenly no longer a valid card for the United Kindgom. Problem still persisting 11:35 AM local time...

Really annoying especially as it was the first app store item we were trying to download that was not free.

If the Apple database had been hacked you would not expect them to let the world know? Perhaps some specualtion in the press "Apple database hacked?" might get a response!

I have just spoken to apple care who have informed me that they have just been notified by itunes that this problem will be "fixed" by later today. They said that all card details are safe and there has been no hack.

Its amazing that a company the size of apple has no way to communicate directly with its customers.
