Is this Apple's business to check does my credit card belong to this country or not? I may have credit cards in dfferent countries and I can use them wherever I want. I can buy salt from the market with this credit card in a completely different country but I cannot buy applications from App Store. This is ridiculous.
If it is a bug, just fix it. If it is a kind of a "security" policy, I have to say that: "it is ********!"
Hi guys,
Just to let you know that I have had the same frustrating issue since yesterday. I contacted the support via Fast lane and had a similar response to those listed above. Still had the same problem until I read a response on here to delete all address information and re-enter that as well as the card details. This has worked for me in the UK so fingers crossed for you all. Worth a try! I am about to buy something to see if that part actually works!
I tried to set up my payment options on my home machine last night and of course got the "credit card not valid' message. Tried it today at work and it worked, was happy. Went home and tried to purchase something form the store and got stuck on it telling me my credit card was not valid in Canada again. So in my case at least it seems to depend on what/where I try to use it.
It asks me to verify my credit card info, I tap the OK button and it takes me to that screen where I can update the credit card number and type its security code.
After filling up the code I press the blue OK and it takes me back to the store, but instead of finishing up the purchase process, an alert shows up asking me to verify my credit card info.
And the loop goes on...
I've done that like 4 times now. It's still stuck on a loop.
Funny thing is it doesn't even check if the security code is correct. I've tried typing anything crazy on the security code box and it acts like it's the right code... just to ask me to verify it again.
I have just updated my Credit Card (expired card) info on my PC iTunes account without doing anything else.
I was having the same issue as the title of this thread earlier today
Just bought an App using my Phone and all OK
So Apple may have resolved the problem
I've been having the same trouble myself. My previous card (Visa Electron) expired in Feb, just received my new one (Visa Debit) and when I try to enter it on my billing info page; "this is not a valid payment card for United Kingdom"
=head meet desk=
It's been happening all day, I emailed support and they got back to me within minutes with an insulting auto message saying "have you checked to make sure your address is entered correctly?" Oh well, I owe £10 on my iTunes account and if I can't even get my card registered to pay it.. well... no loss to me.
Mine was the exact same SIGN OUT of iTunes and sign back in DELETE ALL DETAILS - Name Address etc under the billing option then enter in your number then your cc number then your name etc click ok and BINGO mine is back now it was down for 2 days back now Im in Ireland. http://www.facebook.com/irishpsychics
I got out of the loop by going to Settings > Store > Log Out
Then, instead of signing in inside the Settings app, I jumped to the App Store and tried to buy an app. I was prompted for my Apple ID and password and this time everything proceeded fine — no verification loop.
I hope you get it sorted mine was down for 2 days I was updating my card as it was out of date but as you can see there is 10000000 of posts all since March 5th - Its POINTLESS ringing Support or anything liek that as it is to do with iTunes so they will just tell you to use the express lane etc and I even have full Ipad2 support for 2 yrs ie I paid for it he said send a request I said its pointless its pans out all over the world I will keep and eye on the Forum I said as to when it is working I can confirm now mine is back so just keep an eye out on the forum it could be rolling back to each country slowly etc
Aye, the ExpressLane was just blegh - didn't help whatsoever.

You've reached Matthew with the iTunes Store Support Team. I understand that your credit card was not accepted by the iTunes Store. I'm sure you are eager to have this resolved and I'll be happy to help you with this.
XXXX, there was a temporary issue on the iTunes Store that was stopping cards from being accepted. It also gave the error you reported. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but It was looked into and fixed. Because of this I need to recommend trying the card again.
Now, if the issue continues, there are several possible reasons for this happening:

Then a load of old tosh about making sure the address is the same. Sigh. Well, I hope you're right.. hope this fixes itself.

"the payment card you entered is not valid in Italy. Please provide a valid payment card for Italy". I have just bought an iPhone5 on the Apple website with the same credit card (new). Can't download any app! Some help please?
Same problem for me in Luxembourg for over 2 months now. No solution in sight, meaning no new money for Apple since then. I refuse to put in another credit card out of principle. Same issuer, same billing address, same everything except a new CC number, expiration, and verification code. Maddening. And you would think that the support, who actually responded and attempted to help, would actually contact the card issuer and try to get the problem fixed.
This is different from the other posts.
When you receive this message that says your address or Postal Code is not valid, it is normally one of two possibilities. 1. The Zip code doesn't match. 2. The actual address including formatting is not correct.
Many people will call the bank to confirm the address; but they do not realize they must enter their address into the billing section using the same punctuation and abbreviations. For example, if the bank has Street, but the customer types St. then it will not accept. There are many examples of this, like North, Avenue, Apartment. All these must match identical. So call the bank back and have them read it exactly as it appears.
Hi I had the same issue for a few weeks. Today finally got to speak to Apple support and the problem is fixed.
You need to log into iTunes account, firstly change the payment type to 'none'.
Then go to change the country and region.
It should work.
Best,
S.
P.S. I do agree this is a bug Apple should fix.
