Is this Apple's business to check does my credit card belong to this country or not? I may have credit cards in dfferent countries and I can use them wherever I want. I can buy salt from the market with this credit card in a completely different country but I cannot buy applications from App Store. This is ridiculous.

If it is a bug, just fix it. If it is a kind of a "security" policy, I have to say that: "it is ********!"

Hi guys,

Just to let you know that I have had the same frustrating issue since yesterday. I contacted the support via Fast lane and had a similar response to those listed above. Still had the same problem until I read a response on here to delete all address information and re-enter that as well as the card details. This has worked for me in the UK so fingers crossed for you all. Worth a try! I am about to buy something to see if that part actually works!

I tried to set up my payment options on my home machine last night and of course got the "credit card not valid' message. Tried it today at work and it worked, was happy. Went home and tried to purchase something form the store and got stuck on it telling me my credit card was not valid in Canada again. So in my case at least it seems to depend on what/where I try to use it.

It asks me to verify my credit card info, I tap the OK button and it takes me to that screen where I can update the credit card number and type its security code.

After filling up the code I press the blue OK and it takes me back to the store, but instead of finishing up the purchase process, an alert shows up asking me to verify my credit card info.

And the loop goes on...

I've been having the same trouble myself. My previous card (Visa Electron) expired in Feb, just received my new one (Visa Debit) and when I try to enter it on my billing info page; "this is not a valid payment card for United Kingdom"

=head meet desk=

It's been happening all day, I emailed support and they got back to me within minutes with an insulting auto message saying "have you checked to make sure your address is entered correctly?" Oh well, I owe £10 on my iTunes account and if I can't even get my card registered to pay it.. well... no loss to me.

You've reached Matthew with the iTunes Store Support Team. I understand that your credit card was not accepted by the iTunes Store. I'm sure you are eager to have this resolved and I'll be happy to help you with this.

XXXX, there was a temporary issue on the iTunes Store that was stopping cards from being accepted. It also gave the error you reported. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but It was looked into and fixed. Because of this I need to recommend trying the card again.

Now, if the issue continues, there are several possible reasons for this happening:

Then a load of old tosh about making sure the address is the same. Sigh. Well, I hope you're right.. hope this fixes itself.

Same problem for me in Luxembourg for over 2 months now. No solution in sight, meaning no new money for Apple since then. I refuse to put in another credit card out of principle. Same issuer, same billing address, same everything except a new CC number, expiration, and verification code. Maddening. And you would think that the support, who actually responded and attempted to help, would actually contact the card issuer and try to get the problem fixed.

This is different from the other posts.

When you receive this message that says your address or Postal Code is not valid, it is normally one of two possibilities. 1. The Zip code doesn't match. 2. The actual address including formatting is not correct.

Many people will call the bank to confirm the address; but they do not realize they must enter their address into the billing section using the same punctuation and abbreviations. For example, if the bank has Street, but the customer types St. then it will not accept. There are many examples of this, like North, Avenue, Apartment. All these must match identical. So call the bank back and have them read it exactly as it appears.

the payment card you entered is not valid in the United Kingdom
