Volume is much lower after upgrading my 4s to IOS 5.1???

I have upgraded my iphone 4s from 5.0.1 to 5.1. I can significantly notice that the ringtone volume is much lower than before with IOS 5.0.1 installed. Of course I set the same volume level at the same place before and after I upgraded to IOS 5.1.

iPhone 4S, iOS 5.0.1

After I updated my Iphone 4s to IOS 5.1 the music volume is significant lower if I listen to the music through my headphones.

The volume trough the speakers of my Iphone is still ok.

Also the volume of my ringtones are still ok.

So my problem only reffers to the volume when I use my headphones.

I tried deleting and adding all my music again on my Iphone, but that didn't work.

I work in a Pretty loud environment, so it would be nice if Apple solved this problem A.S.A.P.

I am a real music lover, and like to listen to my music on my Iphone as much as I have time and the oppertunity.

I would like to listen to my music and actually hear my music.

This is one of the most important reasons why I bought the Iphone, so I could listen to my music any-and everywhere!!

Apple: Please fix this problem very very soon, because the way it is now, is unacceptable!!!!

I hope and trust that Apple is living up to it's reputation and fixes this problem for all it's costumers!!!!

We pay a lot of money for Apple products because Apple has a good reputation, and good software.

So again; Apple please help your good paying costumers by giving to them what they expect!!!

Hello guys... We are too many iPhone users having a sound problem after upgrading to iOS 5.1!! After upgrading to iOS 5.1 my ringer volume is lower at least by 30 - 50 % than before... As a ringtone, I use "Marimba". The strange thing is this... If I use the "Marimba" tone as a ringtone and as an SMS tone, the second is clearly louder than the first one... And of course this happens with every sound.. Not only "Marimba"! And before the upgrade (with iOS 5.0.1) the sound level was the same to both of them... Apple should do something immediately!!!

I purchased a 4s today (upgraded from a 3gs). Downloaded OS 5.1 and the voice mail volume is definitely lower than on my 3gs. What’s the deal? I also feel that when I’m on a call the volume is low. All of my volume settings are set to the max. I also preformed a “Reset All Settings” no change. Apple please address the issue.

Hi Guys,

I also had a problem with the low music volume after upgrading it to iOS 5.1 when I tried to turn off the sound check in the General>setting>music, then had to retart the device after then the sound was a little bit better ( I believe that it worked for me as a temporary measure) but still I will be waiting for apple to release an iOS 5.1.1 🙂

Last week I tried a restore from Itune because some people say that OTA upgrade gives more problem than does the itune restore. I did it, but nothing is changed. Volume is still as low as I did it over the OTA upgrade, and the battery drains faster than the phone with 5.0.1. This time it's definitely a sfotware problem. I hope Apple can solve it soon by release a IOS5.1.1 or something else. I still remember that I could hear the ringer clearly when I in the next room the phone installed with 5.0.1, but now I can barely hear my ringer when I am in the next room. Same situation and same setting of the volume before and after installing 5.1.

Have had the same problem since updating to 5.1. After restoring in every way possible, no change. Made a trip to the apple store today and still nothing. Did a side by side comparison with my wife's 4 and the difference is extremely noticeable. The only solution I see and can't stress enough is to REPORT TO APPLE! See link. Posting on here is good so the problem is noticed but the only real way is to report.

Making another trip to the apple store with both phones so that maybe a physical comparison will show that this is a real problem, I'll keep you all updated.

Cheers!
