Volume is much lower after upgrading my 4s to IOS 5.1???

I have upgraded my iphone 4s from 5.0.1 to 5.1. I can significantly notice that the ringtone volume is much lower than before with IOS 5.0.1 installed. Of course I set the same volume level at the same place before and after I upgraded to IOS 5.1.

iPhone 4S, iOS 5.0.1

Same problem! The volume is much lower after upgrading from iOS 5.0.1 to iOS 5.1 (and 5.1.1).

Bass level has decreased as well.

I've tried everything to fix the issue.

This is fustrating, I can barley hear calls. Embarrising when I have to ask people to repeat themselves.

When I had iOS 5.0.1, the music on my iPhone 4s sounded great. The music sounded very rich, full, and deep. Now it sounds tinney and like it is coming out of a tunnel that is a mile away.

Apple, please fix this!!!! 😠

I found a SOLUTION:

Create a ringtone that is louder. For example, I use Marimba tone so I converted my tone with audio normalization and change it to +6dB which sounds much louder now. You can do so with any sound you'd want, Just like your'e adding a new ringtone

THE STEPS ARE:

1. Copy from your iPhone or download the ringtone you like.

2. Convert it and use DSP effect / volume normalization etc. You should choose .M4A file conversion.

3. Rename the suffix .M4A to .M4R file using windows explorer (show hidden files option) or the easiest way - use Winrar.

4. Use iTunes or iFunBox to copy your new LOUD ringtone to your iPhone and you're done.

Good luck guys!

Maybe, I found a REAL solution. I didn't test it but it could work. No Jailbreak.

You need:

-iBackupBot for Mac FREE (Windows too) http://www.icopybot.com/itunes-backup-manager.htm

Guide:

Go to iTunes and make a backup of the iphone.

Open iBackupBot and choose the last backup.

On the right panel search for Library/Preferences/com.apple.celestial.plist and open it (Click on Cancel on Buy Nag screen)

Search for Volumes. Then search for Speaker section inside the plist.

Search for Phonecall value and change to 1 instead of 0.125 (notice other one are 1)

Save the .plist file

Restore the backup

I didn't test it. Please test it and let me know.

Even I'm facing this issue after upgrading it to 5.1.1 I regret having upgraded it now.

When ever I'm on a call, I experience very low volume, half of the time I keep guessing what other person is trying to say... and rest of the time I'm asking them to repet what they said again and again...

When I use earbuds its alright... even music is ok....

I did everything under the sun.... but no luck.

APPLE fellows are you listening ???? please help all of us...

Atleast one reply on this issue will make wonders....
