White screen

I bought the new iPad on March 19th in Florida. We've since traveled to Charleston, SC. In this time the screen on the iPad has turned white - no images, nothing, just white. It has happened when rotating the iPad, when waking it, when restarting it, when changing apps but there seems to be no pattern to it. Letting it sleep and then waking it later usually returns it to normal. I took it into the Apple Store and the Genius reinstalled the firmware as a first step with instructions to call Apple Care if it happens again. This was the first time he had heard of a 'white' screen. Anyone else having an issue like this? Did you find out what was wrong?

Mac OS X (10.6.8), iPod, iPad, iPhone 4S

Screens have went black, a host of other things have happened without elanation and a good fix is the Reset. [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. When the screen goes blank then power ON again in the normal way.] It is absolutely safe.


Keep this fix on reserve!

I'm not sure if this is the same thing, but I've had a complete white screen when switching to an app sometimes. If I switched away then back, the screen would remain solid white. The solution was to "kill" the app then relaunch it


I'm assuming this is a minor bug with ios. I've not seen this on my iPhone before. This is my first iPad, so I don't know if this is an issue other iPad owners have experienced in the past.

I dont know if this is the same issue with me but my new ipad screen is getting all white very often after waking it up. Pure white horizontal bars, no icons: freeze...I have tried Full restart, full restore via Itunes, still the same issue. Yesterday I had another issue with ultra high brightness, but still the icons were visible and interaction was OK. When in this state, ipad was getting very hot and battery draining quite fast even with screen off. When trying to plug the charger in, the noise indicating charger plug was repeating every 10 seconds or so...


Extreme weird behavior of this new Ipad... Are we beta testing somehow?
