White screen

I bought the new iPad on March 19th in Florida. We've since traveled to Charleston, SC. In this time the screen on the iPad has turned white - no images, nothing, just white. It has happened when rotating the iPad, when waking it, when restarting it, when changing apps but there seems to be no pattern to it. Letting it sleep and then waking it later usually returns it to normal. I took it into the Apple Store and the Genius reinstalled the firmware as a first step with instructions to call Apple Care if it happens again. This was the first time he had heard of a 'white' screen. Anyone else having an issue like this? Did you find out what was wrong?

My ipad Gen4 did this exact same thing yesterday. I have had it since early 2012. I see a lot of posts asking this same question. I would like to know from Apple exactly what the problem is, i.e. bad flux capacitor in the screen mechanism, shoddy parts, shoddy workmanship in assembling it, etc. Surely Apple should be able to say something about the problem, or anyone who has had it fixed?

I chatted this morning with a person from Apple support, and they gave the same old suggestions...reboot, restarting by pressing home, off and volume up, restore to factory settings. Neither of which fix it...I did both. So it seems to not be a software issue, but what kind of hardware issue, exactly, is it? It's like it is a big secret. I have an appointment at the genius bar on Sunday, but I would sure like to know what the problem is.

When I had a problem with my Macbook Pro, the hardware problem was a bad logic board. Surely the same kind of answer could be provided for the ipad issue?

Following are the Steps that you have to follow if you face White Screen of Death on your iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and iPod nano.

Put Your device in DFU Mode ( Press Power button for 5 sec – then Home + Power together for 10 sec ) connect your device with iTunes there you will see iPhone in recovery mode select restore iPhone.

When your device is restored then goto setting and reset factory setting. When your device is rebooted again goto settings -> general -> Reset -> Reset Network setting.

You also can upgrade your device via some tools. How to Fix White Screen of Death on iPad

If none of this is working then downgrade your device, To do so you have to download the firmware according to saved shsh blobs.

When ever you see white screen you do hard reset by holding power and home button for 30-40 seconds until you’ll see Apple logo.
