iCloud Mail Down (12:30PM eastern, Apr 17, 2012)?

I was in the middle of responding to an email on iCloud.com's mail interface, and all of the sudden the "Send" button grayed out. I see I have 1 item in my drafts folder, which must be the last auto-saved draft of the reply I was typing up, but I cannot get to the draft. On iCloud.com, the loading spinner just spins and spins and eventually I get an error saying the folder can't be loaded. Same thing happens when I try to go back to the Inbox. I tried to load up the draft on my iPhone 4S, but it also just keeps spinning and never loading the draft. The fact that the problem is occuring on two devices (on separate network connections, one PC on my office's wifi and the other my 4S on AT&T's 3G network) seems to imply that the problem is server-side. Is anybody else seeing these problems?

I'm located in Tallahassee, FL. Not sure if that matters, but I suppose it could be a regional outage.

Thanks Andre Berly! Getting new incoming emails sent to alias for now and can carry on. Hopefully incoming emails during outage are not lost.

I upgraded from MobileMe. Just tested a relative who signed up straight to iCloud and they are working no problem. I guess it's nice to know I am part of somebodies 1%

Same here in Fort Wayne, IN. No email for 24 hours. That is bad enough, but what makes it worse is not being able ti have ready access to what is going on, For good customer relations, good communications is vital, even with, or especially with, bad news. Why can't a system status page get frequent and reliable updates?

I received three pieces in the last few minutes, all from about midnight last night. I don't understand how this can be so dysfunctional for so long and not be addressed.

Andre -thank you! Am getting my emails now. Any way to get the ones that are stuck in the cloud since yesterday? As far as who is out--very odd, I'm out, but my husband who also had MobileMe is fine.

I am just now starting to get a very slow trickle of emails from yesterday. First email since yesterday around 5:30 central time. Is it fixed?

I wish the news was getting it right. They think the outage started this morning. That's just when Apple finally put something up. It started yesterday for most of us.

THERE'S HOPE! I just logged in and BLAM.... Got 40 emails. Haven't fully tested it yet, but this is good news from Denver.

I just logged back in and e-mails are coming in. I'm not convinced it's over yet though - I also had a few stray messages show up late last night, hours and hours after they were sent. But it seems like something positive might be happening. Very aggravating though.

Just received a couple of emails but my tests definitely haven't been delivered. Glad some progress is being made, but the lack of transparency and the smoke and mirrors regarding the impact of this outage and it's source are annoying.

I wonder if it does have anything in common with the Gmail outage experienced recently.

Now starting to get email cc's of posts to this thread almost exactly one hour after the posts go up. Also just got a test email from my gmail account exactly one hour after I sent it to my icloud account.

I am very pleased to report that emails are beginning to arrive.....mostly from the Apple Support Community, lol.

Let's all keep our fingers crossed that the problem has been resolved!

I am still bitter that Apple maintained complete silence throughout this 2 day plus ordeal! Totally unacceptable.

Happy to say it looks like progress but I still have tons of unread messages in folders and no idea what was sent, what was lost and where things ended up. I think Apple owes us all a note or message or something explaining what happened over the last two days.

I've had a few trickle in, but also had a few trickle in last night, too.
