iCloud Mail Down (12:30PM eastern, Apr 17, 2012)?

I was in the middle of responding to an email on iCloud.com's mail interface, and all of the sudden the "Send" button grayed out. I see I have 1 item in my drafts folder, which must be the last auto-saved draft of the reply I was typing up, but I cannot get to the draft. On iCloud.com, the loading spinner just spins and spins and eventually I get an error saying the folder can't be loaded. Same thing happens when I try to go back to the Inbox. I tried to load up the draft on my iPhone 4S, but it also just keeps spinning and never loading the draft. The fact that the problem is occuring on two devices (on separate network connections, one PC on my office's wifi and the other my 4S on AT&T's 3G network) seems to imply that the problem is server-side. Is anybody else seeing these problems?

I'm located in Tallahassee, FL. Not sure if that matters, but I suppose it could be a regional outage.

The fix started with my email being flooded with email alerts from this forum and then shortly after the Apple Support emails started, my tests emails started to drop in. I havn't read all of the posts in this thread but has anyone floated the idea that Apple got hacked and didn't want to admit it publically? Just a thought. I am currently up and running. I hope everyone waiting for critical emails got them in time. Fingers crossed the server stays afloat.

I dont think so, no one is bragging about it

And only mail system was off for some of us, thats really not interesting for hackers

Now only 1% of users where harm about this and its was not only in one part of the world so that we could blame hackers or system failure on a specific server, this was on a close door, that is why no one new about it, hacking would be a realy big news

My account has magicvally come alive during the night and I have 182 items in my inbox to work through. It has reset the ones from the previous day so it looks like someone has done a restore back to a certain point the day before yesterday. So I have had a major service outage for 36 hours. Not happy but Google prodiucts are even worse in my experience at home and in the office so I won't be moving yet.

Ditto for my account.

Also had email from Apple Support (spent 90 minutes on iPhone yesterday) asking me to fill in survey with my feedback on the support call. So I did, concluding with "Tim Cook needs a metaphorical kick up the arse, and a gentle reminder that no company is too big to fail. Think about CDC, Rim, Nokia..."

Yeah...the last two days my apple dot me account has been down! Worse, the last email i got, that didnt load was from my employer with the list of availability for next week. I am a freelance waiter, and need to apply for the jobs they send me. Because of this outage, i missed the jobs for next week. Apple owes me a weeks pay now!!!

Seriously, this is F'd up, and wouldn't have happened under Steves watch. Or at the very least, wouldn't have gone on this long!

I paid $99 for mobile me from the beginning. Is this how its gonna be now that its free? Total BS.

Get er' fixed Apple!

My .Mac.com's Inbox has not been accessible since last night on all 3 Apple devices: Mac (both in Mail and through Safari)' iPad, and iPhone. I see a mail come in for a second, and then VANISH!

All sent mail and trash are available. And I also see notes.

Interesting enough, I deleted iCloud and reattached all services on my iPad ... And now I have multiple calendars and old reminders are back!

I think Apple tried an upgrade and must have failed miserably.

And I'm an Appple Consultant ... How do you think I feel?!?!?!
