iCloud Mail Down (12:30PM eastern, Apr 17, 2012)?

I was in the middle of responding to an email on iCloud.com's mail interface, and all of the sudden the "Send" button grayed out. I see I have 1 item in my drafts folder, which must be the last auto-saved draft of the reply I was typing up, but I cannot get to the draft. On iCloud.com, the loading spinner just spins and spins and eventually I get an error saying the folder can't be loaded. Same thing happens when I try to go back to the Inbox. I tried to load up the draft on my iPhone 4S, but it also just keeps spinning and never loading the draft. The fact that the problem is occuring on two devices (on separate network connections, one PC on my office's wifi and the other my 4S on AT&T's 3G network) seems to imply that the problem is server-side. Is anybody else seeing these problems?

I'm located in Tallahassee, FL. Not sure if that matters, but I suppose it could be a regional outage.

I'm having trouble all day today in Chicago as well. Off and on, I've been able to get my @mac.com mail sometimes slowly on the icloud website, on my phone or ipad. Not at all in safari. Right now, not on anything not even icloud.com. Just a report to apple. Doesn;t seem to be us, seems to be apple, but then they should report a problem.

It's been down all day for me. I don't think it is location-based as my husband isn't having any problems. I can't get mail on any device or through the web. A bunch of stuff finally came through at one point this afternoon, but everything was marked unread again.

This is really frustrating! I've had problems getting mail from my client and my realtor.

Down in Milwaukee, too... ICloud works on laptop, but Mail on Laptop won't download nothing... Laptop WILL upload a message, but the activity Window shows rolling bars non-stop. My test message (ccd to me as well) went out from laptop. My cc came in to iCloud, not to laptop.

Item I read while at a coffee shop, I deleted on laptop, but were still on iCloud later marked unread.

APPLE.... What the heck is going on???

No iCloud mail service online in central NY. I haven't been able to use mail on my desktop, laptop, or iPhone all day.

It's been up and down all day in Denver. MacBook, iPad, iPhone, outlook for Mac, and iCloud.com all patchy. Apple said it was my device and they wanted to charge me $240 to fix them. I told them that every device is doing it and its on their end. I ended up hanging up on the guy. Anyone having any luck?

Wellington, New Zealand - been out since late last night ans still down. Been stuck on the "checking for mail..." status for a very long time until it times out.

Same here in NJ. I thought it was a problem connected to my MacBook Pro, I have been trying to figure out the problem for the past 2 hours. I hope the situation is resovled as I am expecting important e-mail

Yep, same here in Canberra (Oz) sometimes it's up, mostly down, for the past 12+ hours, and when mail.app can't get through, nor can the iCloud.com web access route. Last time something like this happened I set up a "copy to another email address", but I'm not sure if that's possible here.

In my experience the me.com/icloud.com systems status is usually wrong when there are issues and next to useless. Apple should either make sure it is accurate or get rid of it. Very frustrating.

What I find frustrating is the lack of communication between Apple and it's iCloud users. TERRIBLE customer service. System Status states "Normal service has been restored". We all know this is not the case. I would appreciate an update from Apple, please. I am more frusrated by their lack of response.

All out of iCloud Mail here too. I find it discouraging that contacting a Cust Serv Rep concerning this matter will cost me money. After all I was a paying member of MobileMe before the changeover.

All mail applications hang on Checking for Mail...

Tried deleting and reloading iCloud on devices with no luck. My iPhone badge is showing 30 new emails in iCloud but there aren't any emails in the inbox when I go in on my iPhone. Mail on my Mac is showing everything has been read but it keeps disconnecting from iCloud.
